Time for a motivational build to get me back into plastic. Always been a big Rossi fan, I did want to use the rider figure for the Repsol Honda kit I have but the rider decals are hard to get hold of and pretty expensive. So, the YZR it has to be, as you can see the Rossi figure is purpose built to match this bike kit, the figure kit even included the shorter suspension parts for a more realistic weighted look. I also plan to create a little base for this too. stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Tamiya bike kits are fantastic and the detail set just gives it that something special. Looking forward to your build!

Just been randomly flicking through the instructions and building some of the larger sub assemblies. Makes a nice change to just glue bits together without stopping to paint all the time. So, the engine, main and sub frame, radiator and exhausts are all ready for primer, paint and decals which I intend to do before any further building :-) BTW, the kit parts are a very, very good fit - best I have ever come across! Well it's time to dig out some started kits, I plan to get all my work in progress kits finished this year So, the engine has now been primed, base coat of chrome silver then lots of areas of flat aluminium plus some detailing and a light panel line wash. There are still some decals to go on the clutch basket and a few hoses to attach. Here it is so far anyway stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Moving on very slowly as too much going on at the mo Done some priming then the frame and swingarm were finished with decals and a satin varnish. Some more tiny decals on the engine, added the partial clutch guard and cables. More soon! stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Thanks for looking in Bars are done and fitted, I have used a few "different" blacks on them, rubber, satin, gloss etc to try to show the difference between the plastics and metals but the camera dosent seem to want to show them Just a little bit of detailing to go, bolt heads etc. Anyway, more soon! Looking very nice Steve, you can just about make out subtle differences between some of the blacks on the handlebars
