Tomick wrote:A lucky bargain as this book is no longer in print, hence high seller prices being asked Hi, That explains the high prices I've seen, starting to get a little library together all used from ebay and under £5 (see pic) and I've even been learning about her history - seems she took on (and defeated) what she could and ran away from what she couldn't handle - wise girl I've been passed on an interesting book in PDF format about her history but not sure if I'm allowed to post the link to it for others to look at? Good range of books - its surprising how many you can build up in a short space of time. Always good as well to find bargains as some books can be very expensive. Happy Modelling

Hi Carl, I'll look forward to seeing those pics, my parents are going on a cruise later in the year for their 45th wedding anniversary - the second port they will be visiting is Boston - I might have a little job for them May.

Boston is a lovely city.It is easy to get around and there is a lot of history there. The freedom trail is excellent and the Constitution is in the dockyard right by Bunker hill.It has some great restaurants too if they get to overnight in Boston they should definitely so ashore for dinner. Sadly not I believe they arrive from Maine early morning and leave later the same day for New York - then it's on to Port Canaveral, Nassau, Freeport, Miami then they fly home - it's ok for some eh..... not that I'm jealous of course May.

Carl,
Another book you may be interested in is "The Frigate Constitution and other historic ships" by F. Alexander Magoun. Published in 1928 is covers well the 1927 rebuild. Some better photos and drawings than are now out there. This ship is a cornucopia of opinions as to what she looked liked in her heyday. Guess you take your model and go with it. Am very interested in where the MS model is and her details. She and Victory are simply amazing.

Might be worth checking with c/s that you actually are going to be sent it as there seems to be confusion on its price, two links from the same site have differing prices, one says $47.95 and your link says $51.95 https://store.ussconstit.../books-uss-constitution
Also it's Shipping to the UK is half as much as the book cost and there will also likely be import duty to pay on $77 and the overall cost likely higher than it can be found in the UK.

How can it have cost you $40 with UK shipping if your link says the book is its $51.95 to start with and even the other link says $47.95.
If you somehow managed to get it for $40 shipped to the UK then its a bargain
