I am new to this Forum, and would be very interested to know how many people on the forum have a disability that makes Modeling a bit more of an adventure than those lucky enough to have full abilities.
I have Multiple Sclerosis which has left me with just my right hand to work with, this means that I have to think about ways of holding the parts Im working on. Although I build a lot of plastic kits to keep me occupied I find these large scale screw together models a great help as assembly just requires a good clamping system and a screw!!!
Anyway as this is my first post I would very much like to hear from others on my subject Im on part 35 of the JaguarE type.
Regards Tony

Welcome to the forum Tony. I hope you find the forum a helpful place to be, there is a lot of expertise here.

I'm sure there are many builders who would be interested in the methods you use to overcome your disability (whether disabled or able bodied) as well as others who would be glad to help with any particular problems that may arise for you.

I for one would love to see some examples of your work.

Hello Tony

It sounds like you're getting on really well with the build. I found the wire wheel to be challenge enough with two working hands.

I haven't got a disability other than aging eyesight but I have found it a lot easier to use a different screwdriver with 8 interchangeable magnetic bits of different sizes, particularly for the frame. It has a wider shaft so easier to grip. I look forward to seeing pics of your build.

Hello Tony.
Welcome aboard.

There are quite a few build diaries of the E Type to peep at for ideas.
If you get stuck, there's plenty of help here.

Roy.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome. I am having a great time building the E type which comes as a relief from my last E type which was from Monogram and took a lot of patience as the kit is very old, infact when I was in Holland in the 60s this kit was brand new, and only £8.00!
With regard to methods I have a small hand vice which was built as an examination piece for an apprentice and I couldn't manage without it.
I will try to put some pictures on the site if I can work out how to do it.

Your pictures are way too big.
Max image size is about 145kb
Yours are around 2,000 - 2,500kb.

You need to resize them in a picture editing or paint program.

Hi Tony, a guide on how to resize and post pictures on the forum is available here

http://forum.model-space....aspx?g=posts&t=244

The pics should be 600x450 pixels which should give you the correct file size for them to visible on the forum without members having to download them.

Hope this helps

Welcome to the forum Tony: I have a neck injury that will only allow a limited time to model while looking downwards, so most of my modeling is done standing up with a height extension on my bench to allow me to work looking straight ahead. not the easiest way to work, but better than nothing, one does what he can.
