Hi Shipmates,

Thought this info might be useful for those of us that are building the Akagi. The model is a 1/48 Tamiya Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Fighter.

Quote:
This aircraft was flown by Lieutenant Commander Shigeru Itaya, Flying Corps Commander. It was flown from the Carrier Akagi on December 7, 1941 in the attack on Pearl Harbour.
.

Some really great info regarding painting and weathering, as well as types of paint used.

Thanks MWG I thought it might prove useful, especially the info about the paint combinations used in the weathering. It will defiantly provide a more authentic feel to the zero models. BigGrin

It certainly is MWG, she's a Beauty! BigGrin

Chris, what's with the almost camo pattern on the plane? Does it have a darker tone to blend better with the sea because its at low level on the attack?

When you look at today's carrier aircraft, the colour scheme is very different, how things move on. Nice work Chris! BigGrin

Very useful painting info.
What about transfers for the aircraft? do we get them supplied? or has any one got any tips on where they could be purchased in the right scale.
Thanks Terry.
