Guys, Most if not all will be following Mr. Warthogs build diary and although Ive done the front wing once, I feel that when I look at mine, it just doesn't live up to how good it could actually be! Now I'm new to model building, well not completely new, completing various airfix and revell models, but still this scale a job, i'm new to it. But aswell as been scared about the task, i'm incredibly excited! So I'm going to hang back a couple more months get some more issues, and some experience under my belt with potentially building other models and adding detail. I have been studying the model and the real life version and I've found a couple of areas which don't quite match up. I've attached some photos below which I've collated from various places on the net, none of which I could find to be copyrighted so I guess I'm ok to post them! [Removed pictures as requested by Tomick] I can see a few details I want to add, Im sure a few of you will have picked this up already but - Carbon details on the inside of the lower nose connector shown in the second picture I think SennaMentalMe mentioned this on Warthogs build, but the vanes underneath are abit thinner than the model, and the connector from wing plane 3-4 (the one where the vodafone decal needs a touch up after applying the part over the original decal. Any ideas on this? Theres also carbon detailing on the underside of the bridged wing. I've also attached a few more reference pics, eg the engine for a standalone build, Thanks to Warthog for giving the brilliant idea! The brake ducts and gearbox. I havn't decided what to do if any with these yet, I think I'm going to wait until Warthog has hit that area and see how you go at this! There's also some great reference pictures on the Amalgam site, its not the exact model, but the closest is the 2008 monaco model. Its in the high res section. Any ideas, or areas which you can see, or have noticed, please post! I'd like to keep this thread as abit of a reference thread to all the points through the build which could be enhanced and a thread where people can get ideas from to enhance there own model! Great photos, but they will be owned by someone, where you should seek permission to use/copy the photos before posting them into a forum, what you don't want is the originator hounding you for copying his/her photos without asking, I suppose its common courtesy more than anything.
Failing that, simply post the links as to where you saw.

Has anyone had a good look at the Japanese blog of the MP4-23 custom on the link above? Some great ideas, like making a decal of a barcode for the tires, and he's made the wonderful 'dumbo' wings on the nose! Would anyone know how he made them? Or anyone planning on making them? Had a lot of browsing time as I was on nights last night and also tonight Building the McLaren MP4-23
