This looks absolutely gorgeous!Drool Love Drool
Wonder if we'll get it this side of the pond?

When everyone is talking about a downturn in kit demand, it's good to see a manufacturer bring out something new and exciting

It's been around for about 4 years now but it never came to the UK.
It was also touted to be the 'latest' Pocher full kit about 2 years ago.
Pocher even had it on their website but it was eventually removed and then dropped.

I wanted this kit too but it seems it's not to be.

Mind you, being EM, I wonder if they will manage to get all the body parts in 6 different shades of silver like they did with the DB5...?

The cost of licencing may have killed this one off as it never went further than the web page. The only decent kit out there of the car right now is the 1/24 scale one from Tamiya, link below-

https://www.ebay.co.uk/i...e22a:g:LMoAAOSwpDdVHUwp

On the small size for some modeler's but also check around as prices can vary a lot by £10 or more. There is also a Hobby design etch set for the above but it takes some searching to find lately. Also note the box art if it is not the same as in the link its one the older versions that had build issues.

The Merc Gullwing did go right through to completion in some countries.
There's even a German forum out there I used to follow (link lost) that showed the entire build from start to finish.
Who knows why the UK didn't get it?

That is correct Roy it did complete in some countries but I was referring to the UK website. Which did not go any further than the website. This tells me that the reaction to the teaser website was low and did not warrant the cost of licensing which could be exorbitant for every country they have intention of a possible release in.

Eaglemoss is releasing the James Bond Aston Martin right now in US.Not seen a date for the mercedes yet. I think there were some issues with the partwork when it was previously released with color differences between panels etc....

Hilarious - unless you paid for the subscription.
The colour of the panels was utterly appalling.
Every single part of the body was a different shade of silver and it was extremely noticeable.

I built the Gullwing and EM fixed the color issue. All the panels matched perfectly. That said they botched the chromed bumpers. They did not remove the mold lines or sprue marks before they plated them. They are plated with actual chrome so there is no easy way to fix....

A friend of mine recently bought one of the 'ready-built' DB5's from EM at a monstrous cost.
All the body panels are different. I know, because it was delivered to me to dismantle and trim in leather, carpet, engine detail and add proper wire wheels, then reassemble.
For what he paid, I would have gone berserk.
Clearly the different colour parts problem hasn't been resolved as of yet.

If they are beginning a whole new sub though, it means the factory has a new set of parts to make. Hopefully sorting the colour problem will be part of the contract.

TBH, If I was about to build this kit, I'd do my utmost to ignore any parts of the build that need bodywork until I had ALL of it.
I'd probably repaint it myself but I know a few people who took all the parts to a proper car paint shop and had everything resprayed Silver Birch.

NOT cheap, but the results were astounding.
A properly detailed and repainted one sold at Bonhams for £6000 in a James Bond auction a few years back.

Just hope EM have sorted the colour problem for this new release.
I'm sure they must have done by now as they had a TON of sh-t from UK buyers.

BigGrin A lot of guys from Canada talk about using Splash and Zero paints perhaps a look north may find you a supplier.

They are good paints just make sure you spray body/item is dust free, they dry almost matt and pop after the clear coat goes on so a good 2 pack clear coat would be needed as well as a good face mask as both the paint and clear coat are not beneficial to your lungs.

Why all this Zero paints aggro...?

Literally ANY car paint colour going back DONKEYS years can be found from any decent car paint match company.
Near where I live in the UK is a company called CARS. (Imaginative... lol)

I've bought many genuine, historic car colour spray cans from them, custom mixed at about £15 for a large can.
Never a problem.
Even the early Aston Martin light metallic racing green, and that one is HENS teeth...
