So the stage coach is finished just waiting for a display case to arrive, so I’ve been looking at what I could build next plastic, wood or metal

So I’ve decided to look at building a Class 08 Shunter, this will be the kit by JLTRT “Just Like The Real Thing” the company has now closed.

So at the moment I’m just doing a little research into possible versions numbers D3045, D3668, 08534 or 09018 and also going though the instructions looking at where all the bits go.

Ok so heres the Resin bits.

So these are the bits needed for the Cab interior.





Sanded the horrible sinkhole marking from the interior of the roof.



There is a big area I don't like and thats the floor area, as you can see there are two screw holes these are used to secure the lower framework to the main unit. This needs to be removable in case the unit needs repairing.

Mine won't be a working unit i.e. no motor as I don't have the room of O Gauge layout, but I will install a gear box just incase I ever sell the unit and the next person wants to run it.



So I'll be adding a wooden floor section that can be removed, I also want one of the doors open so you can see inside better.

The cab has a lot of detail, but I'll possible add some more later after I've found photos of the real unit.

Gearbox arrived today.









Dry run to see if/how it would fit.

This is the part for ihefront grill.



Simple to make just fold the 3 corners and solder the 4th, then insert the grills and solder tops and bottoms.



Dry fit.




Hand rails made from rod.

Tool boxes and other compartments, theres different version so depending on which version your building.







I've not glued all of them on at the moment, reason was so I could make sure paint get down all the sides.

Next was to start work on the chassis section, the supplied screws and nuts where to big.



So I had to rummage around my spares, these are used to secure the side running plates.



Pickups and motor all installed and tested. The motor will be removed once finished so I can use it to test the next model.





Repositioned the motor.



Tested and all working fine.

It's looking great.
What scale/gauge is it?

So I've added the detail to the lower side sections.
