Yet another one now on the go... I never used to build more than one model at a time but now - I realise what I've been missing. It really gives 'spark' to your builds as each time you go back to a different one, it's fresh. (I'm even starting to re-enjoy the giant 1/8 Porsche. This one is a small kit. (For me) It's the Nichimo 1/12 Lotus Europa. I'm going to build it in the Gold Leaf colour scheme which I think really suits this car. Away we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Welcome aboard Ken. Not much to see yet. Just the main engine parts assembled and painted. Although the kit is 1/12 scale, it seems TINY after working on 1/8 stuff and the big 1/4 scale Williams. A bit of fun. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Hi Roy. You have some very unique models to work on, things i have never seen before. Are they kits you have stored away over the years or do you do a lit of teacking down to find them? This looks a very nice one. Tony Happy Modelling

Hello Tony. Many of these 'oddity' kits and models have been sourced over the years. I also have a very good friend who has stashed away some real 'Grail' kits and now commissions me to build them for him. Along with that, I have a few nice contacts in the 'real' classics world who know what I do and keep an eye out for things for me. My own stash of peculiarities does contain some rarities but they weren't rare or 'valuable' when I got them. Mostly just luck.

Well, it's wet, chilly, pretty yukky outside. Spent today on this little Europa as I need another can of white primer for the giant Williams and I just didn't fancy a trek to Halfords. Mind you, Tesco's did beckon for a couple of nice steaks and a few bottles of plonk but that's another story... Anyway, the engine has been pretty much put together and painted now. I will add some of the missing wiring etc a bit later on. It's a fun, 'mindless' build and time seems to scoot by. On we go. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

That's a nice one to build. Good colour scheme as well. Breaks up that heavy rear profile. Malc.

Hi Roy, have been tied up for a little while and at long last am now able to settle down and catch up on a number of things I've missed, your builds being some of them. This certainly looks like a very old kit and have am pretty sure it'll be assembled to your usual very high standards. Looking good as usual and I'll be following as normal.... Good luck with her..... Regards Alan

Thanks for looking in Alan. All comments are very much appreciated. I've finished assembling the rear end and now also, the front chassis and back bone. The front suspension was a nightmare, as the instructions are awful (text being Japanese doesn't help) and I had to take it all apart several times as parts were upside down, the wrong way around etc. Got there in the end. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks for peeping in and commenting chaps. Much appreciated. Ok - one seat now covered in leather and fitted into the car. The other one still to do then it's on to the dashboard. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks chaps. The comments are very much appreciated. The other seat is now complete and fitted as is the dashboard. At the rear end I've added the missing brake pipes and pipes for the fuel tanks. Tyres are on, exhaust sorted. Bodywork next... roymattblack attached the following image(s):
