Hi Everyone. My name is Chris, and i'm from a very sunny Kent. Well it is sunny at 4-02 on the 26th of april, no it's cloudy, no it's sunny, now it's raining...oh god, British summer time..!!!!!! Anyway, i've been watching everybody else's builds with interest, especially the pro's builds that look amazing to put it mildly... Although i haven't gone down the carbon/respray route i have been adding the occasional little touch just to make mine unique. As i suppose most people are. It's all starting to come together nicely now, although i am aware of the wing colour issues that i'm following with interest. Hope everybody is enjoying this as much as i am... Chris. PS. This image was taken with the corner camera of my i-phone perched in the cockpit...

Hi everyone. Well yesterday i had a package delivered that had some nice decals in it, and micro-set and micro-sol decal juice as well. So got on with the steering wheel. And mighty fiddly it was too.. But very enjoyable.. When you consider that the steering wheel is not much bigger than a fifty pence piece and some of the decals are about 3mm you can understand when i tell you that i had a monster headache when i finally got it done after about two hours.. But i'm chuffed with the results.. And i'm expecting my monthly delivery of all the steering racks and seat gubbings in the next few days so it's all good.. This first picture shows the early stages.. And the rest is the finished article up against the 1/4 scale wheel for comparison. Hope you enjoy.. See you soon Chris

If you saw my post on the Johnnie Walker decals in the general discussion section you will know that i had an issue or two with the sizeing.. I think it was my fault actually as i didn't realise that the decals were specific for each side. But i've got the correct ones now and after a little brushing on with micro-set i was able to get the wrong ones off and the correct ones on... Amazing stuff that micro-set by the way... Smells like vinegar.. But i won't be putting any of it on my chips..... Added detail on the water bottle..

Hi all. Whilst waiting for my new bits to arrive i've been tinkering with my tyre decals. I must be miles behind most people as im still waiting on the steering rack and seat to arrive. But patience is a virtue so they say. On looking at them on the partially assembled car i realised that i didn't like them with the L and R on. It just made the whole wheel look way too busy. On the real life tyres it looks like they have been spray painted on with a stencil. These looked far too neat, so they had to go. But i did like the little barcode so i kept them on. They got a bit grubby with all the finger marks and water on them so i have just oiled them up again and i'm about to give them another couple of days in the bag. Come on Mr postman... Chris

That looks brilliant mate... I take it these are the set of decals from JJ on ebay? lemans-88? They look brill. The Red 'R' looks so realistic. Can't wait to get mine started! Building the McLaren MP4-23

Hi Danny. No, these are from bestbalsa, the Belguim guys... As i said i thought the L and R were a bit too much so i removed them. I tend to fiddle a bit with the colours and brightness of my photos so it probably made the photo look better than it was. To the naked eye it really didn't look right. Maybe the green one's would look better..????

Ahh yeah... I think we've got the same decal sheet just from different suppliers Yeah I get what you mean about it looking abit too clean cut now I look again... I think maybe a stencil is the way forward. I think the Green ones are for the Kovalainen car if you were to make that version. Infact just found this picture - definately for he Kovalainen version - http://www.pixstel.com/k...p4-23_picm144-14496.jpg
Seriously good job though mate, can tell your enjoying it, reflects in your work! Building the McLaren MP4-23

Hi everyone. Well i found myself with a few days to get stuck into the build again. I am about a month behind most as i haven't yet got as far as the exhausts, but not as far behind as some people by the sound of things.. Now i know that i'm not supposed to keep putting it all together, and i know that i'm probably putting too much strain on those two little pins on the lower front suspension arms, but i can't help myself. I am a big kid at heart as i suppose we all are.. I'll promise not to do it anymore...!!! I think i may have ordered a case that's a touch too big..!!!! Keep calm and carry on guys.....!!! Chris
