I believe this is a good Kit, I am a big fan of dragon. will you be replacing the tracks as they don't appear to be individual link tracks.

BigGrin Hi Jase
the tracks included with the kit are of the new DS vynl compound which are excelently rendered/moulded but i think it will be hard to reproduce the clasic panther track sag with these so il be looking at the metal track i think, not sure where to get em thoughCrying

The Zimmerit and other etched parts are a vast improvement Andy and the model looks great. I have just started in military and armour modelling myself so will be following this diary with interest in the hope of picking up some tips and tricks.

BigGrin Hi Bernie
and thanks for the comments, this is my 1st plastic kit in over 35 years like you it was airfix /revel before this, the etch as you say makes a good model into a great looking model. Some if the etch in the 'panther ausf g late' is so miniscule that u cant see it anyway so its best to cherry pick some bits but the overall effect is most enhancing. The tool brackets are a joy to behold when made up.Please dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions
regards

Hello Andy, you are doing a fine job considering it is your first plastic kit in 35 years, well done. You are right about the miniscule size of some PE parts and it doesn't help when your eyesight worsens the older you get! Look forward to seeing some more pictures.

Bernie.

Hello Andy,

I have heard that these Friul tracks are very good, even if a bit expensive and that they sit very realistically on the sprockets and wheels due to them being metal and not plastic. It would be interesting to know how you get on with building and painting them, how much clean-up is needed, what you think of the result and whether you think they are worth the expense? I am thinking of maybe doing a 1/35 Sherman tank at some point this year and may well invest in some Friul tracks for it if it is worth the expense? What do you think?

Bernie
