Now that the build is all but complete, can we expect a permanent stand to replace the temporary stand that was provided for the construction of the hull - If so when is it going to be available, and at what cost if any?

Apparently, the stand provided is it. I think we were lucky to get any stand, my endeavour came with nothing. I got some cast antique fish and a nice piece of Imboia wood to make my own stand, and it looks great. For my son's pirate ship, I used the same wood and some brass pedestals, and that also looked good. All these items are readily and not too expensively available at your local model/hobby shop. I will probably go for making some kind of ornate stand for my Victory, otherwise will get more of the fish.

I have it from Mr T (I asked this question myself) that DeAg will be offering a stand for our Victory build through their shop. Don't know the timescale thoughBigGrin

Any news on options for the display stand?

The only ones I've come accross is at CMB, and they are very expensive!
There does'nt seem to be many places selling them.

I've got a mahogany base and just need the mounts, so if anyone knows where I can them it would be much appreciated.Confused

Cheers'
Jeff

This is my BIGGEST peeve about these part-works things. Cursing Cursing Cursing
When things that should be in them ( we pay enough for them ) are added extras at extra $$$$$ of course.
The victory stand, extra. (though the one they sent as a working stand does look good with a Teak stain.
The endeavour stand, extra. Not sure if the cutaway has one either.
The Bismarck stand, has a working stand (My Endeavour is sitting on that atm ) can't remember off hand.
The Lancaster bomber, ( a framed mirror ) 20 pounds extra, $40.00 AU and no rivet marker at least Bismarck and Endeavour had the nail pushers in them.
I don't get the fancy free gifts because I get mine through the newsagent but most of them aren't anything I haven't got the equivelent to anyway so though nice and useful not really important.
But PLEASE if a tool is needed for the build (the rivet marker wheel ) let us have it included. Mad
Current builds:
The Victory (of course)
The Endeavour
The Bismarck
Lancaster Bomber
And any model kit that catches my eye
Everything from 1/35 military to Godzilla and anything in between.
Oh and a suit of armour. ( yes real knights armour )

All things considered that seems quite a good price, especially as post and packing are inclusve. It may well be that I get one of those for myself.

The inclusion of a stand tends to vary from series to series/company to company, certainly the ModelSpace San Felipe, Yamato and Akagi series include a display stand.

As for including specific tools outside of basic tools needed, then I agree that they should be provided, though the Lancaster series is not a DeAgostini series, though I am aware that the DeAgostini 1/12 Spitfire series does include a rivet marking tool, (hopefully the series will be released in the future).

I agree Steve, it does seem a good price for what is a finished item.

My little rant was a generalised one.
Just about all the part-works I've done or doing have little things that could be improved but I do still enjoy them. The stand for the Victory you show above looks good and I probably will end up getting it.
Just a bit annoying when you pay over a thousand dollars or pounds for something but don't get everything you need for it.
I'm 4 issues away from the end of the Lancaster, (much much building to do) do I keep the 30 bucks a fortnight that I spend on it? Or do I start another part works? Hmmm decisions decisions.

I've not phyically seen it yet, but I am guessing that the hull supports and name plate block will need to be attached for ease of packaging and to prevent breakage during transit.
