Hi Bob,

The planking does feel different and a better surface quality to that of the Victory

no pics as i've had a few camera problems.

i've got it planked up to issue 128, so that's planking inside and out, i'm currently working on the riders, parts 13 and 14 abcd etc.

on completing the hold planking, issue 128 steps 1-4, you have to cut out some slots on a 1mm x 6mm plank, this plank is similar to some of the victory planks in so much as it is two .5mm planks glud together. this actually makes cutting the slots easier, as it reduces the chance of splitting the plank.

step 3 suggests making a mirror image, but i found that if you use both the jigs and mark your slots using the numbers facing you then cut the slots, but then use the opposite plank to fit to the hold you end up gluing on the pencil side, so no pencil marks show.

that sounds a bit complicated especially with no pictures, but if you have the magazine then i'm sure you will understand.......i hope

hopefully i'll be able to hijack one of my kids phones/camera soon.

i used 2mm, at the start, then 1.5mm.

the 1mmx6mm plank on top of the 1.5mm gives another .5mm step at the top end.

i trimmed the risers so they would fit over the three 2mm planks either side and trimmed the top of the risers to fit over the top .5mm step. so everything lies flush.

still no pics, just an update.

not a lot has been done on the model due to a bit of an accident with a craft knife. some super glue got on the handle so when i placed it down on the table it stuck blade side up. as i've mentioned bfore i have a problem with my hands, one of the problems with my right hand is lack of feeling, so i had no idea that i had actually been leaning on the knife blade until my dog came over and started licking the blood. so a quick trip to the docs and a couple of stitches later means i've can't do anything for a week or so. maybe by then i can get some pics, since i've got my camera back.

i still have to sand all the outer edges, i started, then every stage seems to add more, so i will wait till i'm a bit further on before i tidy it all up
