Certainly is a nice model Spence and a very talented guy. I previously posted a link to this myself, about a year ago and apart from Jase nobody seemed interested at the time!:

I would like to contribute a picture from my spitfire blueprints.

Although I am not building this, and have been suitably hung drawn ands quartered for comments made I do have a full set of Mk IX blueprints in my posession and contains around 250 blueprints.

Although this ALTAYA (not deag) offering is of a Vb (Mk V with "b" wing)there is much in common between the Mk V and IX

I trust you have permission from the copyright owner to copy the drawings and hand out across the public domain?

As far as I know, these blueprints are out of copyright. Mine are copies of originals. If anyone knows if these are still copyright then I won't share.

[quote=snapdragon]As far as I know, these blueprints are out of copyright. Mine are copies of originals.

Unless you are aware beyond doubt that they are not currently copyright protected you should not post these on the forum or use the pm function to distribute them.

For your protection as well as the forum.

Thanks

Well said Jase and totally correct, theft of copyright is a very dangerous game to play nowadays, whether it is done knowingly or not and ignorance is no defence in a court of law!! ThumpUp

Obviously I don't want to break copyright or get anyone into trouble including myself.

I cannot find any reference to up to date copyright ownership of Spitfire blueprints. The original owners are Vickers Supermarine/R.J. Mitchell. The man has been dead over 50 years and so has the company, which I believe in official terms means that copyright has slipped unless some cunning man has gone and copyrighted them again.

However, I have found the following sites where you can purchase sets of blueprints. I am sure that this will make people feel better by paying for them, and they are a wonderful resource for modellers.

http://www.sicuropublish...tfire-Mk.IV-thru/Detail

This looks like a really good site, also they have some plans for the zero

http://www.fighter-plane...-Inventory-Aircraft.php

http://warbirdplans.com/plans.html
http://warbirdplans.com/prod_spit.html

particular ref for luftwaffe fans

http://warbirdplans.com/prod_262.html

should give all spit builders a good start
