I managed to get the Doyusha Countach kit from Ebay some weeks ago for a measly £39. I've 'watched' this kit many times in the past and it has always sold for upwards of £80-£100+ so to say I was surprised when I won it for so little is a bit of an understatement. It's going to be nice '70's bright orange with a tan/brown interior as per a genuine car I have referenced. More to follow... Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

The engine went together extremely well - the parts fit of this kit is extremely good considering the age of the kit. I'm astounded at the number of parts in the kit - over 360. Even the most complex of the Tamiya 1/12 kits only has around 280 - 300. I've researched the Countach and decided on bright orange with a two-tone brown/tan interior - a-la '70's. The engine has an amazing amount of detail added and includes a vast amount of wiring and pipework - something even Tamiya would do well to note. I'm used to such kits having the attachment points etc for wires/pipes, but none actually in the kit. This one has it. There's not much in the way of extra wiring I've added myself, other than use better hoses and finer coloured wires. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Engine mainly sorted and installed into the chassis. LOTS of very fiddly pipework included in the kit that should really be fitted before the engine goes in but I only discovered that later on after following the instructions - always a mistake with big kits... Absolutely love this car from being young, But are so horrible to drive . I had the pleasure of driving one and they are horrible. You have to fall out of them in style and foot to pedal room is zero and you'll never see the nose. BUT that didn't stop me from enjoying it and would still love one lol. Nice build by the way looks mint. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Interior now.... I chose nice, dodgy old brown and tan - '70's colours through and through. I made the carpets using S/adhesive dolls house carpet. Paper templates first. The dials had to be painted - no decals for these. I'm quite chuffed with the interior and hopefully it will go well with the orange bodywork. BTW... Many thanks for the kind comments. Great job Roy, love all the extra touches and enhancements that you are adding to this and as Tom has said it is almost as though you can smell the petrol - what a bargain at that price too?!
Well done!!

Wheels on and a few extra parts at the front. The body is all painted and glossed, awaiting a good polishing. I've added a bit more detail at the front end according to my reference pics. I have to say that this is a really superb kit. The parts cleanliness and fit is way up with current Tamiya. I'll have to watch out for some of the others in this range.
