Hi All Another enhancment im adding is the fixing straps to the armoured degausing trunking, to do this i used staples cut in half then bent over a 1mm thick steel sheet to get the desired shape. To obtain the spacing im using an unused plank cut to size to drill small holes either side then the straps/staples are pushed home[probably way out of scale but its the look im after].It will take me a while to do but as my Akagi shipment went missing in the post this month and iv had to reorder iv got plenty of time. All in all i think its improved the look of this area,as ussual all comments and questions are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Stunning looking model so far, absolutely love the smoothness of the hull. It is obvious the hull was a labour of love. Only hope my hull can be that smooth. No doubt when its finished, it will be a work of art. I smile because i have NO IDEA whats going on :)

Thanks Smugglerand Harty for the kind words, believe it or not but there are some parts of the hull im not compleatly satisfied with but perhaps im being too fussy.Im sure your hull will look just as good if you follow the tips iv added in the diary. Its the initial preparation to the hull that will make all the diffrence. The 1st coat of primer will show up any major blemishes that need filling then sand that back, also spray putty helps fill any small blemishes that appear.Forgive me if im teaching you to suck eggs as they say. Also the additional etch kit im getting will make a diffrence but more on that when it arives, again thank you for the comments they make doing a diary all the better. regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All Another small enhancement added but 1st why i did it,in the official build the hawse pipe is represented by a piece of shaped wire but Mr T substituted a 7m plastic part made by himself. This although a good substitution it was never going to look right in my eyes so this is my solution. Firstly i stuck four pieces of left over planking[2 by 5mm] together to form a plate[20mm by 65mm],then i drilled two 7mm holes through it.After that i marked the outer circle onto the wood and cut out both blanks.I then used sand paper and my dremel type drill to shape the pieces to the profile i wanted. I had to do a little triming at the top as the degausing strip was slightly in the way[ on the full size Yamato the d/strip went round/followed the contour of the hawse pipe]but after some more shaping it fits quite well and now in my eyes looks more realistic. The parts were sealed and have only had a coat of undercoat so far.As ussual all coments questions are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy! I also support your reconstruction of the hawse pipes. I send you a material that is a picture of the hawse pipe in 1/10 the YAMATO model in Kure YAMATO musium, but I was not able to judge if the hawse pipe was an ellipse or a circle. Next pictures shows the hawse pipes of my Yamato model. They were made of putty. Although I did not have a strong evidence, I selected ellipse then. Even if the hawse pipe is an ellipse or a circle, I recommend you not to remove the part of it because I have indicated the first picture. That is my comment. Best Regards, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi All after posting the last pics i decided that the hawse pipe still didnt look right[and as Yaturo-san has pointed out]so a small amount of reshaping has taken place at the top end, looks better now i think still needs a little finishing regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
