Hi Trevor. I am following the coppering plan in the HMS Victory her construction career and restoration by Alan McGowan book. The copper tiles tend to curve up into the waterline. There is not a straight line of tiles along the waterline level, there are a lot of triangular cut tiles into the waterline. Yes this does look triangular. Hope this answers your question. Ian. Hi Alan, Walter, Mo, Reinier, and Peter. Thank you all for your very nice comments. Most appreciated. Peter I had four days of off work last week. Which is why I got so much done. I would say work at your own pace and do not rush any thing. The end result is worth it. Ian Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood. Hi Ian, Good work with the tiling keep at it,but you will find that you will need a break,Ian as you work towards the water line you will find that the tiles will tend to bow or sag in the middle this will sort it self out just keep on going. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Hi Ian, That copper works well, looks like it could be a bit of a frustrating job, how do you find it? I`ve only just started my Vic build and still therefore have that choice to make, but that said and done I don`t want to paint it copper and think I`d made the wrong choice . Hi Derek. The tiling is a very long time consuming job. It gives the model the finish she deserves in my view I prefer the tiles to copper paint bottom. Glue wise I found evo stick serious glue easier on your fingers than super glue and super glue gel, doesn't leave your fingers sore when you get it off. Hope this helps you to make your mind up.
