Work now started on issue 65, the fitting of the poop deck... Took 3 of the 4 deck support beams and fitted them to the ribs as instructed... Did a dry fit of the lower horizontal support and found no adjustment was necessary... Cleaned off all the black ash before gluing in place ensuring all centre line marks lined up, used a dowel to ensure the mast holes all lined up too.. Pic gives an idea on how she will look with a mast fitted... Cool Cool .. More later...

Happy building all....

Regards

Alan

Thanks Martyn, can fully appreciate what you are saying... I am so pleased I took at least one build as a weekly from the newsagent and subscriptions for the others.... Means I can collect all the parts before starting with no hold ups..... Cool Cool .. Thanks again...

Continued with the fitting of the poop deck, happy to say it fitted a treat without any trimming or altering.... Have now completed the bulkhead, the only thing left to do is to give the facia a fine sand and to level the top down to 31mm, a job to be done tomorrow... That brings to an end issue 65 except the buckets....Cool Cool

Happy building all...

Issue 66 was 2 days late this week at the newsagents so it delayed the start of work on the old girl... Sanded the front of the poop deck bulkhead and then covered with a fine layer of wood filler... When dry sanded smooth and gave it a coat of primer followed by its first coat of matt black.... Cool Planked the rear of the bulkhead the same way as I've done the others... Have now started planking the poop deck...Cool Cool .. Tomorrow, hope to finish planking the poop deck and give the bulkhead its second coat of matt black....Cool Cool

Happy building all..

Regards

Alan
