Pack 11 - Stage 126 The man and leaf decorations were fitted to the port and starboard side galleries along with the bottom decorations. The large stern decoration was glued in place. I built up the 4 counter timber decorations with left over hull planking strips then shaped them to match the curve of the transom. The gun port lids were finished with eyepins and 3mm rings then fitted in place to the stern gun ports. This completes the stage. Pack 11`- Stage 127 This short stage consists of cutting 6 eyepins to 2mm length. small holes were drilled in the marked locations on the transom and rudder. The eyepins were fitted into the holes and glued in place. After the glue dried, a length of chain was attached to the eyepins with 3mm rings. This completes the stage and Pack 11. Pack 12 - Stage 128 Starting the final pack. This will be my favorite part of the build. Fitting the Masts and rigging. Stage 128 starts by building the 3 lamps for the stern. Using eyepins, the oar locks on the 2 launches are fabricated. The launches were then glued to the boat rack built earlier. the rack was then fitted to the main deck. Stage Complete. The gun port lids were finished with eyepins and 3mm rings. The lids were then fitted to the gun ports. Stage Complete. Pack 12 - Stage 130 The bowsprit top trestletrees and crosstrees were built and attached to the bottom of the bowsprit top. The lower bowsprit mast was cut to length and attached to the bowsprit along with the knee. The bowsprit top was fitted over the mast. The top mast was cut to length and fitted to the lower mast and bowsprit top, using the mast cap. The top trees were assembled and the topgallant mast was cut. These assemblies were fitted to the top mast along with the top cap. The top ball was added to the topgallant mast. Stage Complete. Pack 12 - Stage 131 The foremast was cut to length and shaped to the plan. The foretop and trees wre assembled and ribs added. The rubbing paunch and cheeks were added to the mast. Eight bindings were added to the mast. The bibs and foretop were fitted to the mast. The deck guns were assembled and glued to the deck. The gun rigging was then added. TIP: Instead of gluing the eyepins for the gun rigging to the bulwalks first, I find it easier to tie the rigging to the eyepins FIRST then gluing them to the ship. Pack 12 - Stage 132 Following the bowsprit plan, I fitted all the blocks to the bowsprit. Slots were cut into the sides of the grates next to the bowsprit to make room for the gammoning. The bowsprit was fitted to the bow of the ship. 2 sets of ballels were fitted to the fore deck and the poop deck. The launches were lashed to the boat rack. Stage Complete. Pack 12 - Stage 133 This stage started by building up the upper parts of the foremast and fitting them to the lower foremast. The spritsail yard and sprit sail top yard were made and rigged with blocks per the bowsprit plan. The yards were then fitted to the bowsprit. Pack 12 - Stage 134 The reminder of the stern bling was fitted. The 3 lamps were also glued in place. The foremast yards were fabricated and fitted with blocks, foot ropes and parrels. The foremast was rigged with the appropriate blocks per the foremast plans. Foremast was then fitted to the hole in the forecastle deck and glued in place. Pack 12 - Stage 135 The Main mast was fabricated and stepped to the hull. The mainmast yards were fitted and rigged with the appropriate blocks. The headrails were then fitted and the 4 columns were attached to each side. The stage was completed.
