Fantastic Alan, I bet the gold wales look fab, it's so hard to get things to show on camera sometimes. Watching with interest as always. Steve

Steve Thanks Stevie and yes the gold wales do look fab, in fact the whole ship looks better in the flesh, better than any photo can show. The wales are the same gold used on the rest of the ornamentation.... Thanks again Regards Alan

Finished fitting the wales and the gun port rings down the starboard side.... Also finished building the figurehead platform and is now dry fitted to the bow. Had to gently widen the supports for the platform, this was because of the walnut veneer facings I applied to the prow... happy with the results.... That brings to the end of issues 76 & 77 giving me some time now to work on the Titanic..... .. More soon.... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Thanks Derek, your comments are always appreciated, appreciate you support also.... .. Have quite a number of extra things I want to do to this build but won't be starting those until a little later in the build, it will be my own personal touches to give the build its own character..... Thanks again.... Regards Alan

Hi all, started work on issue 78 this evening and have made up all the parts relating to the main mast lower fighting top... quite straight forward and in keeping with my colour scheme have given it all the first coat of medium oak stain.... couple of small PVA marks to get rid of which I will tackle tomorrow along with another coat of stain plus the painting of all the edges with burgundy... .. Have also decided I will be replacing the supplied birch for the masts with walnut, already have the dowel so am likely to start tapering the first two sections of the main mast tomorrow.....
