Hi Andy!
I'm very glad to see your satisfactory building of the Akagi model.LOL
I have noticed that your lift has 4 free wires. I guess DeAGOSTINI Uk does not also explain how to handle them as DeAGOSTINI Japan did not. Since explanations from the DeAGOSTINI Japan were (are?) doubtful for me, I also left the 4 wires free for several period as shown in a attached picture as you did.Cool
But I found there were no severe pit falls about these 4 wires. I attached the wires at proper positions.
Best Regards,
Yutaro

BigGrin Hi Yaturo
The build instructions say to cut these wires off at the top wheel but i knew these wires were where the lift is attached so i left them uncut for that reason. As for the enjoyment of the build all i will say is she is certainly a chalenge in parts

Hi Andy
The hull and bilge keels look beautiful. I guess the painting process is closing to your Akagi. I'm waiting for next photos.

BigGrin Hi All
heres a couple of pics of the last stern lift]excuse the wet paint]Blink .This is the smallest and most chalenging lift to fit everything into,as space is at a premium.I had to do a fair amount of fettling on the motor components bases to get everything to fit,but as you can see it is possible to get it in with a little bit of thought.
If like me you decide to use Amati's portholes to enhance your build the 1.5 porthole count is 66 and the 2mm is 496, so you will need 1 pack of 1.5 mm[aprox 100 per pack for 1.5 and 2.0 mm]and 5 packs of the 2mm portholes,i obtained mine from CMB but this will not be cheap option as you wont see much change out of £46.00 with post and packing.
I can now continue with the fitting of the stern hangars and then some serious painting of the internal walls/floor.After that theres the portholes to add and the deguasing cable,i will be using plastic strip for this again as in my Yamato build and then more painting of the external hull.As always all questions/comments are welcome
regards

BigGrin Thanks Ger C for your kind words, Simon if you were able to download the 1st set of instructions use that e-mail that you were sent at the time to renter the download page,if it still says Akagi 1 only then do this, in bottom left of download page there is a log out button[very easy to miss] log out using this then reenter your passcode and the 2nd set of instructions should then appear ready for download.Hope this helps

Hi Andy!
Your work of lifts were very fine. Motors, gears and wires seems realistic!Love
By the way, as I wrote in another topic, DeAGOSTINI Japan closed this part work without showing us how to fix the floors of the lifts. I recommend you to make some kinds of stoppers for the floors.Cool
Best Regards,
Yutaro
