thanks all for the comments.. i am doing the chainwhales and because i am painting my build do any of you think it will look odd if i leave the brass unpainted on the supports i have aged the brass supports by blackening them then rubbing the black off this has taken the shine off and looks like there old..i have already left the eyelets unpainted on the masts and on the deck,so really i wanted to know if visible brass will look ok on a painted victory cheers benny

hi all i have put together the chainwhales and opted to leave the brass and deadeyes unpainted all i need to do now is varnish them and add the blocks...i followed sob's idea to use eye pins because i too found the brass too brittle cheers benny
