Thanks for all the comments guys.
Next up is the steering wheel. It's two resin pieces, a PE spoke piece, a cast center hub and 15 0.5mm rivets ( and only 15 in the packet !! so great fear of losing one ).
I drilled through for the rivets, Sprayed the two halves and with a bit of stretching managed bring it all together. finally clipped off the rivets to size at the rear.

Many thanks to everyone for the interested comments. I've started with colour on the bodypanels. The outer surfaces will be in Italian red and inside silver leaf ( TS 8 and TS 30 ). It looks a bit pink in these pics, not really like that. I must have a look at different light source. RM1 attached the following image(s):

The drivers seat ( more like a chair ) comprises two resin parts and a cast cushion. The kit has a sheet of a self adhesive "Suede" cloth. Basic shapes are given on a template sheet.RM1 attached the following image(s):

That seat looks fantastic Malc, the suede is very neatly applied, did you find it difficult to do or relatively easy? I've looked a couple of times at maybe getting the MFH 1:12 Maserati 250F at some point in the future, which also has this type of seat covering, so it would be interesting to know what it was like to fit? Nice work on the red paintwork too Malc, looking very good indeed.
You'll be needing to start thinking about your next build very soon by the look of it - any ideas what that might be?

Brilliant stuff Malc. That seat looks great. You can't beat upholstered seats. So much better than just painted plastic. Stunning work.

Kev. Hi Kev, thanks for the comments. The seat covering was actually fairly easy to fit and the sheet supplied is enough for at least three seats so plenty to practice with. The adhesive backing is very sticky so I sub-divided the larger pieces. As an example the backrest and inside surfaces of the arms are given as one piece in the printed template. I made them three separate parts which made the application much easier. The material is quite elastic so it pulls nicely around the curves and pushes well into the ribs on the seat back and cushion.
The MFH Maserati 250F looks like a stunning kit to get. I hope you get to it at some point.
Many thanks also for the excellent description of your method of making your own wash that's on your F1 Eagle build.
Malc.

P ainting the panels well underway. The blue line around the nose is specific to the number 2 car at Silverstone for the inaugural World championship race in 1950. There were 4 Alfa 158's entered and I think the colour is a quick visual guide for the time keepers. Malc. RM1 attached the following image(s):
