Looking excellent.....makes me slightly apprehensive about my porthole adventure coming up I smile because i have NO IDEA whats going on :)

Hi Smuggler theres no reason to be aprehensive m8,if you use 40mm wide masking tape to transfere the portholes like i did.Just line the masking tape up with the top of the hull for the lower[hull] portholes and the top of the hangars for the upper ones.Your 1st portholes will take a lot of time as you make sure its aligned but after as you gain confidence they get easyer and faster GL with yours regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

looking good andy. i finally started my build, i've got the keel and ribs on, but thats all for the moment i can't start planking as i used some of the wood supplied on a different model and am waiting for cmb to get more stock. Come on you Jimmies

Hi Saintsman Nice to hear you have started, just one thing to look out for on the planking. This is the rear step for the armour belts that are added later, the step here is almost non existant[unlike the bow step which is quite large] so you have two choices either cut and fit to obtain the step here or just plank straight across like i did then when it came to fitting the armour belt here i just measured and carved/cut back to get the corect profile to fit.I personaly found it easyer to plank straight across and fettle it to fit, but its your choice, hope this helps regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Saintsman! If you start planking of the hull, I recommend you to read #4 post of my diary, "A renewed building diary in English" just once. DeGOSTINI Japan's step told us to use water for warping planks to adjust them to the shape of the hull. I think such a method is not proper. Best Regards, Yutaro.
