Hi Trev, Loving this as always. You need to patent the rivet jig, that looks like an awesome idea. WTG Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Trev . I hope you are well. I think you have done a fantastic job with the jig for the panels. Its a bit more work making the jig but I must say that it is well worth the effort . Fantastic job and please keep pics coming. Best regards. Mark

Great idea with the jig! I will copy that for my build, once i get to that stage.
How did you achieve that dull look of the plates? That looks great!

Hello Steve, Well Steve this is the first time I have skinned in metal, I have skinned with tissue and with Ply so this is a challenge to me which makes you think a bit, I still say you can't dry fit enough! Hi DaDokta, Thanks for the comments about the jig, the reason I dulled the plates down was because the wing was a bit to shinny for the camera, just think how bright it will be when completed. I will be spraying when finished. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

UPDATE:SPITFIRE 100215. Stage 64/65 Stage 64 First job was to identify wing plate 12 then lay it on the template and mark the rivet lines, having done that the next job was to sand the side to be stuck to the wing. Once the plate has dried pierce a hole in each corner with the awl supplied. This is the picture with number 12 plate in position. Stage 65. The next part was to assemble the Landing Gear Housing I found for this you will need, Sandpaper,Hobby knife,File, Glue, and a small hand Saw. First thing remove all parts from the fret Housing received in pack 64 and smooth of all edges. Position the base of the Landing Housing on a flat surface, then test fit the two sides into the notches on the base, glue the first side in place. Then the second making sure that they are at 90' Next locate the two ribs in the wing then cut away the bottom of the two ribs(Remember the wing is upside down) next file and smooth the rib edges. You can see where I have filed and smooth in this picture. With the Landing Gear Housing make sure you test fit before you glue because it has to be below the Spar otherwise you will have trouble fitting the metal plates. This picture shows the wing with number 12 plate in position plus Landing Gear Housing fitted. Thank you for taking the time to look at my build more soon. Regards Trev.
