UPDATE: LUGGAGE RACK. This part of the luggage rack will be built onto the rear of the coach and will help support the lower part which will be held up by two brass rods covered with leather, it looks like a bit more soldering. Keep Safe Regards Trev Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Hi, @ Alan, will be fitting the lower platform next this will be bolted to the coach. @ Roy, next I will fit the main straps which hold up the platform and cover both with Leather. @ Mark, I will be making the very small buckles from 1mm brass which are placed on the main straps and the small straps which hang from the sides. More soon Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Trev, Wonderful work. Your interior work amazes me and I would like to ask if we could have a few shots of it before it gets all buttoned up. The last shots I saw were all the interior components laid out prior to installation. Hard to believe the coach lines could squeeze 9 passengers inside and 3 or 4 more up top! Imagine wool clothes and a 100 degree desert day! Tom

Hi Tom, thank you for your comments and advice regarding passengers and clothing, it must have been a horrific journey in those days, but it just shows how tough they were and the thought of people attacking and shooting at you (or have I watch too many movies). I will post a few shots off the inside before I fit seats/and foot stalls and doors, not too sure about the ceiling. Hi all, The top photo shows how to build the luggage rack side covers with wire, found this difficult to do plus keep a shape so I made them from ply, this allowed me to have a stable base to work from. Second picture both sides now ready to fit straps which will be fitted around the lower rack. Hope this makes sense.
