Hi Alan Thanks for looking in and the kind words, the build is quite straight forward until the hangar stage where it goes out of build sequence and gets a bit tricky/challenging ,Although I think in January Mr T will have worked out a good build sequence for the official build diary rather than the build as it happens now. Also we were lucky that Yaturo Honma from Japan who came onto the forum with help and advice from his experiences with the original build in japan regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All After Yaturo had posted about his enhancments of the Akagi page3 post 42, I too had in mind a way of replicating the machinery [ the anchor winches] for this area as I too didn't think that the etch outline would do. My way was to make a master mould part [pic 1] and cast a mould round it [pic 2] then use the casting kit to replicate 2 parts [pic 3], pics 3 and 4 show the deck without and with these parts. I haven't glueed them down as yet and yes the hangar will cover this area but the winches would be able to be seen here. As always all comments /questions are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy! Your enhancement looks great! Although these parts are hard to be found, but we can see them. I think that they should not be simplified. I wish you have a happy new year. Hi Ian Thanks for looking in and your generous comments, the majority of the ship is spray painted with an airbrush some of the smaller parts are hand painted. The stern deck was sprayed Kure arsenal grey 1st then I hand painted the linoleum colour as masking here would have been a nightmare regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy. I thought they looked spray painted. You have done a superb job with the spray gun. I used spray gun on r/c bismarck - keep up the good work look forward to seeing more of your build. Hi All Just a quick update on progress as I haven't posted for a while. All the hangar portholes have now been added as have a few doors, the funnel mounting plate and support girder have been added. The funnel fitted quite nicely without to much adjustment the secret is to move the support girder about to find the best location and then glue it down. Next to the funnel is a metal part that a pillar goes on to support the anti aircraft gun, as with a few of these castings the base is not a right angle so adjustment [ filing back at an angle and refit then adjust again] is needed here to get a neat fit with the minimum of any gaps. Now for the other side and the fitting of the wood store and the metal hangar attachment. The casting metal as you have probably found out is hard, I think its 95% tungsten just drilling out the holes for the portholes on the metal hangar part ruined a HSS drill bit . On my casting to get into the right position would mean taking off around 7 mm of metal at the rear so my solution was to cut a slot in the hangar wall and push fit the piece to the correct position [if your worried about it being seen from inside the hangar its too high up, I checked before cutting the slot].Doing it this way also gives a better glueing area, Still need to do a little filling and some more bits to do regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
