Hi Guys,
I do have the mast plan as a pdf but seem to be missing the sizes of the Bow spirit and jib boom. Will be getting on with it soon though as I got a new Heli to build up..

Chris..

Hi Chris

I have just seen this build thread and I am in awe of your skill and workmanship. I was thinking about buying this model as a fan of the M&C books but after seeing this diary I am having second thoughts as i know I will not be anywhere as skilled as you at building this fine boat.Blushing

Keep up the great work

Bob

Hi Chris

Did you get the Stove supplied or did you buy this as an extra? I read on another build that you didn't get one with the 20 Issues kit.

Thanks Chris

Hi mate,

I got mine from CMB.. You don't get one with the kit, only the chimney. It is worth while getting one as you can see most of it..

Hi Mark,
I just used the normal admiralty matt black and gave it a coat of matt varnish then dry brushed a little silver on some areas.

Hi All,

Thanks for your Heads up..BigGrin
Here I have lined the inner of the ship first instead of after planking the hull. I think it is easier to get them lined up better. Just my opinion..

I have not smoothed the joints on these as looking at interiors of ships they are not smooth joints. I have chosen to paint the inners white on the lower deck as the Jotika prototype Surprise has mentioned in there research that the lower decks where white washed.

Thanks for looking Chris.

Hi Chris.
Did you use the 2mm basswood as supplied for the outside planking for the inner walls.
Thanks and best regards.

Great looking build mate !!!

I am on stage 12 on the Deag build but this shows no mention of the Main Chain Pumps that you have others have built.

I would like to include this in my build to make it a little more accurate plus I think they look very good.

Would you mind giving me some basic dimentions so that I can have a go at making my own?

Thanks Magpie

Dave

Hi, I have just started Surprise, lower gun deck finished about to start hull planking. DO you know of any plans available for her? I will be using your build diary as my reference as Deag,s download instructions are vague to say the least. Beautiful build by the way. I aspire to reach your standard.
