I have to add that although you get a 1/1 plan of the foremast, the plan is in no way complete, measurements are scarce to say the least, and the instruction are complicated and fuzzy.a great shame is we have loads of members who are doing this build and NOT putting up a build diaries. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

week 86. first the channel chains, looking at the mag all looks straight enough, coil of 1mm. brass wire(soft).this needs straightening,an old trick is this, take one pair of nose pliers and coil it round end, undo coil brass wire, rest first pliers on floor (still attached)place right foot on pliers and with a second pair of nose pliers attach at other end,you stretch as hard as you can, this beleave it or not will straighten the wire. snip off the ends and you have a straight piece of wire.the first pic. is done by using round nose pliers.the mag says cut the wire at 60mm.far to long, cut at 50mm.with the 5mm. deadeye in place mark 20mm.down from deadeye and do a 90degree bend. the next job is to tie a .8mm thread to the fighting top,(first platform)this is to position the channel chains, they should be fixed at an angle to the shroud.put 1st deadeye in first hole in the channel, using the thread mark for a 1mm. drilling hole.position the chain and superglue,I used thick superglue. more to come later.............. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

the steering is straightforward enough,I made up all the eyebolts and blocks first then fitted them with the main rope threaded as I went round the deck. Hi Karl! It's looking great, you have done a lot since the last time I looked. I haven't been able to read all the posts I would like, but your ship is well detailed and is a credit to you Karl. I look forward to seeing her with the masts on. Darron

the masts are ok to do,it's the yards that are a nightmare, the amount of blocks is ridiculous,on the main yard their are 20 blocks plus the parrel beads and stirups to do. also the stun'sail booms and fittings. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Yes, it all looks tricky, especially for a newbie to ship models. The pictures just don't give enough detail, so it is going to be a frustrating task I feel. Currently Building:
