BigGrin Hi All
Another update on progress so far, I have made up some platforms that needed to be assembled and added the railings which have also been added to the anti-aircraft guns.
The bow hangar has now had the front platforms, ladders and railings added and has had a coat of undercoat, some filler is needed on this as the paint showed up some flaws as I suspected it might.
I still have a platform to shape [ more metal bashing] and will post pics when its done. As always all comments/questions are welcome
regards

Hi AndyBigGrin
Your Akagi looks beautiful and excellent. Especially much windows form in an orderly line. I think it was a hard work. I tried opening windows on the casted metal parts, but in vain. It was also hard work, wasn't it?
I'm looking forward to see your next sharing.
Best Regards,
Yutaro

BigGrin Hi Yaturo
Thanks for your comments there always appreciated. As for the port holes in the metal part, 17 portholes = 1 ruined HSS drillCrying . You may also have noticed a decided to go with the platforms in the kit as I thought making my own Thinner version would would attach to the thicker hull platforms and look out of place.

BigGrin Hi All
the upper hangar bow has now had a full coat of grey paint and the linoleum covered decks/walkways painted on, there is some controvesy here about the bow deck being wood or lino covered but I opted for the lino look to match the other decks. As always all comments /questions are welcome

Hi AndyBigGrin
Linoleum color is sharply painted on your Akagi. It is quite beautiful. By the way, many Japanese Akagi modelers use φ0.5mm brass rod as stationary metal fittings for linoleum. Are you going to try it?
Best Regards,
Yutaro

BigGrin Hi Yaturo
Now that looks impressive and certainly sets off that area, now you have me thinking. A lot of masking tape and pre painting the tape edges with grey to stop the bleed effects gives a sharp edge to the painting [ something another modeller on the forum recommended]. Thanks for posting a simple but effective enhancement

BigGrin Hi All
This month its fitting a lot of small bits like doors ,vents, stern deck fittings, guns and the start of the fitting of the major hangar platforms, starting at the stern with some [not all] support struts fixed.
As I have mentioned before the metal parts are very hard [ iv worn out the free Yamato file nowCrying ] so I have found it easyer to rebate the platforms into the hangar and it also has the bonus of a more stable area to glue too [there is a good explanation about how to do this in the tips section of the download ]
The bow hangar area where im working on now is a different story the walls are only 2 mm thick so its a metal bashing exersize here and will post pic's as soon as im upto date here. so a few pic's of progress so far with more to follow and as usual all comment/questions are welcome
regards
