No, that's because I am stuck in the UK at the moment until I get the second jab.

The construction work takes place in Greece where I also live.

I have spent a fair amount of time attempting to get the wire "loops" below the chainwales looking presentable without much success. I got soft brass, copper, even black wire but I was not happy with the result. So I have resorted to my rope ties that I experimented with originally. I can hear the gasps of despair from the purist modellers but I had to accept defeat with the correct rigging I'm afraid. A couple of pics of how it now looks, together with a couple of pics showing the foredeck stored guns and the barrels in front of the binnacle.

All looks great to me, excellent work.....Love Love .. If you're happy with what you've done then it really doesn't matter what others think... It's your model so you build it the way you want to.... If you hadn't said you had replaced the wire with thread then I really wouldn't have noticed..... Very well done, look amazing.....Love Love

Hi Goddo, BigGrin

As already said, the links look fine and only a purist with their nose an inch away would know the difference. If my build ever gets to that stage and I have the same thoughts, then I would willingly do exactly what you have done.ThumpUp

A bit more progress with completion of the bowsprit.
I used the brown thread for all the lashings and now it's finished, I'm not sure I like it so much. Maybe revert to the black (thinner) thread and see what that looks like.
I also pushed planking nails through the dolphin catcher and jack mast to add a little more strength.
