Cheers lads for the comments appreciated. Just like to point out the dummy cannon I made was for the tutorial, so I thought I`d show you my original dummy 1/72 32 pounder cannon barrel, as you can see by the pics you cant see the split, its hidden behind one of the cannons rings, willz attached the following image(s):

These details are really amazing and without comparison to everything I've seen so far (well, with the exception of your own work). Do you still use deAgo's parts as a basis (or at least for taking measurements) or is it completely built from scratch?

Lovely work and detail Willz I must say, seeing the picture of the launch in your hand, brings home how large the De Ag kit is compared to my 1/100 scale kit. Re the grating, I know you like to scratch build, but have you considered buying pre made, I have used 1mm square grating and I know they make larger sizes too. Keep up the great work. Regards Alan England expects that every man will do his duty.

Still have all the mags from the deag Victory, the idea was to build the deag out of the box painted at the same time as building a 1/72 scratch natural finish. mmmmmmm seemed a good idea at the time. cheers

Regards Alan hi Alan managed to do the gratings, bit tricky but got there in the end. the picture of the boat in my hand is a 1/72 barge and not the de ag launch, so below is a pic of my de ag launch just for comparison willz attached the following image(s):

Thanks for the comments lads, appreciated. Managed to fit the gratings to the barge, quite pleased with the outcome, must admit I had a hard time making the gratings, the problem was the fact that I wanted thin stock about .5 mm and to cut a steady .5 mm on the saw after grooving the material didn't work so I ended up making them out of strips (tricky) anyhow I will show a complete tutorial of how I made them later this week. Cheers willz attached the following image(s):

Thanks for the comments all, appreciated. OK on with the gratings, I put a saw blade in my circular saw .5 thick, then ran a groove down a piece of 6 mm ply and glued a . 5 mm strip in the groove, then next to the strip I cut out a hole to take my circular saw blade, the hole is wider than the saw as to adjust from the strip (fence) for larger or smaller holes in the gratings. Fixed the ply to my saw and adjusted for a 1.3 mm hole. willz attached the following image(s):

Next cut some .5 mm X 2 mm strips to about 20 mm in length, these are the pieces I will use to make the gratings willz attached the following image(s):
