Andy,
Hi well the hole build is beginning to take shape now, even more so if I had put the wings together as one piece but I am trying to put it off as long as I can not only due to the size but also the wait, and I have not panelled the under side yet, but a great model to build.

Regards
Trev.

Regarding Stage 85, see the info in the official build for Stage 85 which notes as follows:

"Note that the missing arrowed plate from the template (lower wing plate 20), is provided in Stage 101 and is fitted in Stage 102. (This also applies to the template/content of Stage 91)."

The plate shape for the smallest plate is correct (lower wing plate 23) and the template has no bearing on this. But you appear to be missing the small squarish plate (top left) in your parts image photo (lower wing plate 18).

UPDATE:SPITFIRE.
270615.

AILERONS.

First was to retrieve and identify ailerons left and right and the template to mark the aileron.

Using the template to transfer the lines onto the aileron plate with a scriber and ruler.

With the lines now transferred to the plate the next job was to glue to the fret, best to check that sides are aligned before gluing, you may find that you will have to sand to shape.

Test fit to the wing and adjust if necessary, should not be a tight fit.

More soon
Regards

Trev.

Dan thanks for looking, the wings are starting to shape up now but as you know it all takes time as with your Zero build.

Thanks Dan.

UPDATE:SPITFIRE.
270615.

ENGINE SUPPORT.

Engine support has three sides to glue together, after removing fret and sanding down then dry fitting, making sure that when positioned in the fuselage it fits correctly (note Mr T Build) you will see that the sides will splay out, this is how I have fitted my engine support to my Spitfire as you can see from my pictures, not much more to say on this bit other than thanks for looking.

Regards

Trev.

UPDATE:SPITFIRE.
030715.
SPRAYING UNDERSIDE OF WING.

This involves masking of the area where the undercarriage will be fitted, first to primer then final coat using XF76.

Mask of area.

Then I sprayed with Tam Grey Primer.

My final coat Tam XF76.

Next I will show you how I fitted the undercarriage.

Kind Regards,
Trev.
