Kev Hi Kev, Another option would be to use pushpins like the type used for notice boards to hold the planks in place until set, that way you could do away with the brass pins and not have to fill in later? Regards, Tom

from what ive seen on this forum was the use of bulldog clips a very clever way to hold planks safely and without the need to fill in later im sorry i cant remember on what thread it was but im sure someone will post it soon Alan

Thanks Colin, because I was hunting high and low for those particular clips including ages in the cavernous Staples warehouse but nothing looked like your clips...I was in my local hardware store where he was selling those clips for 10p each...I had to ask you first before I bought any of them and started vandalising them  ...thanks again mate, your a gem... Regards, Tom Hi Tom, I did consider that option briefly, but in my experience those pushpins bend very easily. Also I think the slight difference in texture and appearance (such as it will be) will give the impression of the nails used in the planking in the real ship, then again I might just be deluding myself Kev

Hi Magpie, Question for you. What is 'Alphatic glue' and where can we purchase it? I'm going for a natural finish and would prefer not to use the pins. Thanks daffy09
