Thanks Jase, Alan Managed to get the hanger deck fitted to the hull sections after spraying the hull the correct colour. After the disaster with the humbrol acrylic paint I thought Id give the enamel a go instead, it sprayed perfectly with a 50/50 mix of enamel thinners. I did buy a couple of Tamiya paints too but I really wanted it the exact shade. All fibres are done now, just need some leds attached to them next. Spent a whole day painting the airwing, 12 harriers and 5 helo's, the decals were very tricky on these as they are tiny but got there in the end. I gave them a gloss coat first for the decals to go down, then a wash and then a coat of satin varnish, I think they turned out ok anyway. Now that they are out of the way I can get on with the main model again. More soon Steve stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Thanks Jase, Karl Got the leds all done now and put the deck on. The fit for the main hull halves and the hanger deck was very good, the deck fit was not so good and needed a bit of fiddling around, which I didnt want really due to not wanting to mess up any of the deck finish with clamps etc. Anyway, as you can see below there was a fair gap to fill round the edge but ok in the end. The led sticking out is to be inside the island / bridge windows etc I will post some pics tomorrow of the lights all on as soon as I wire up the jack plug. Thanks Alan, Here are some pics of the leds / fibres. I took these this morning in daylight as the camera takes a clearer shot, the light effect is obviously way better in the dark but not on camera unfortunately. The pen top is just to stop the glare of the led that will be inside the bridge later. I may post a pic later of the jumble of wires underneath It's now mains operated with an adapter - Im using 12v leds and a 9v power supply. Cheers Steve stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Thanks for all the nice comments Guys Just a small update, I have built the 996 Radar, this one will be on top of the main mast. It's only one plastic kit part but looks quite nice when all the etch parts are on. Steve stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Some more etch work done and the basic island built up ready for tons of etch to go on. The first pics are of the 1022 radar, this was fairly tricky to build but looks so much better than the kit part. More soon stevie_o attached the following image(s):
