Hi Walter,
Thanks for posting and keeping us currently up to date, what I can see is a craftsman at work you are certainly moving at a pace. When looking at your build it is clear to me that you are not only thinking ahead of your build but keeping your build clean and square, which is important for fixing the metal skins.

Trev.

Hi Walter,
Just thinking about your Spitfire build, and how you are getting on. Have you started with the wing plating yet, and are you having fun with the riveting tool.

Sorry for the late answer, Trev - but it`s been months since i looked in this thread!

I put the spitfire-build on a hold a long time ago as i wanted to concentrate all my efforts on my victory-build.

But the spit is not forgotten and i`m receiving the last shipment next month!
Greetings,
Walter

After finishing my F-15-build and also the Stefansdom (as can be seen in the finished build section) i will now continue the old Spitfire kit.

Looking through my stached parts i found two parts of the engine-cover broken - but fortunately i could repair those.

Also i attached the leading edges of the port wing.

Hi Walter,

That port wing looks spot on and very cool, glad to see you have started to skin the panels, this can be a bit tricky at times I found that when you lay a panel try to see the line on which way it is going and where it ends up, that will give you room for adjustment for the rest.

Unfortunately i have to report another build termination.

Last weekend my younger son decided that he wanted to look if that spitfire with that large wings would acutally fly when beeing tossed down the balcony!

Well i must tell you - she didn`t! :))

It was quite a surprise because during all the years i built the Victory he never ever even touched her!
Greetings,
Walter

Hi Walter,

Had a similar experience with my Spitfire when I moved house , something moved in transport and I lost parts, but I am still re-building slowly.
