thanks for the kind comments guys sometimes its a real struggle to get your head around things and you keep putting it off until its got to be done and then it sort of works out - anyway enough waffle next step breach ropes and bits and then I can think about the upper decking thats a milestone! Lower deck chain pumps built from scratch but have housed this on mahogany strips as fiddley. also on with masts and mast heads and bowsprit one question - how do you fit the rings to the top of the cannons to take the thick restraining rope ca glue dosent seem to work keep falling off Ant Re-fit the rings to the top of the cannons, i drilled holes in and then put small eyes in them Regards

Thanks Rob managed it with CA glue in the end stuff I was using was old and therefore rubbish couple of pics of cannons found this real difficult so far and time consuming also another model ive had for ages just put frames together and deck - maybe I should have started this one first! regards Ant antswain attached the following image(s): Current builds :

thanks Alan ive stuck the big ropes down onto the deck now so not sticking up in the air looks more natural much happier with it gonna try the next six the other way round do the breach ropes first and the rigging after reckon this will be easier Ant Current builds :

have redone the side windows to the captains cabin and had to put in the window head right across because there was a gap here which can only be due to something I did wrong to the roofs reasonably happier with the overall look though regards Ant antswain attached the following image(s): Current builds :

Looking good Ant.... .. Know it can be a pain having to re-do something but if you didn't correct something you are not happy with then it would annoy you even more every time you looked at your finished build.... Well done, coming along very nicely.... Regards Alan

thanks for comments Alan,John and Mark think your right about the upper deck looks more natural than the lower. I used a light oak stain on the lower with some antique oil, the upper has just had one coat of antique oil rubbed in with a cloth before treenailing to see what it looked like. Cant change the lower deck now but live and learn pics also show my other ship with first layer of planking almost complete regards all Ant antswain attached the following image(s): Current builds :

Hi Ant, Very nice work, the deck looks great. Don't worry about the different shades as the upper deck would have been exposed to the weather a lot more Steve

Looking good mate. Just a little tip if you don't mind me saying, on your cannons the thicker rope you have rigged on them if you mix pva with water then brush it onto the rope, so it's soaked in it. Then you can add natural sag. Here's a link to my cannons. http://forum.model-space...s&m=22094#post22094
