Its looking great.I am surprised to hear about the fit issue. The Stephensons rocket and Jupiter train I am building are really well engineered with pretty good fit out of the box.Maybe this is an older Occre model.
I love the comment about the hammer.I did destroy one of those metal fascinations kits because I got so frustrated trying to build it.

Hi just a small update.this is where roof not going to fit if you just glue parts in slots provided.and not check the fit first.as can see the slot next to the cab end wall is half a width out 1.5mm each end.so ya roof would not go on by 3.0mm overall, because support beam would prevent this.anyway easy fix just sand slot till can get this beam in next to end wall.all the other bits will need to be made to fit after, because this alters the spacing.but it easy to do.I choose to clamp it all on board with cab fitted to roof to keep all flat as glue dried.because the ends are very springy.I'm enjoying this build.just need to check before ya glue.cheers and happy moddelling mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. Hi Mick, This build is progressing nicely. Shame about the fit issues, but it seems like you have that all under control. Well done and nice that you show the cures to any issues, so that people who may build this at a later stage are warned. An interesting build to follow. Hi well progressing slowly.more fit issues I'm afraid.had to alter the platform supports to fit. Curved the wall to fit this, was 3mm to short, so added strip to this.the bumper supports are 5mm to short.so had to put new bits in to increase length. To get gap between wall and bumper that suppose to be there.the suspension fitted well but the cross beams and wheel guard supports are to short and will need to be replaced.not done this yet so will post pics next time.bit more done to inside.and few posters added.I have reprinted mine on photo glossy paper. As look better than the paper ones.bin using border adhesive, type ya use for wallpaper, to glue these.ill make a decent model of this if it kills me.cause I'm not impressed with this kit at all.think ya got more chance of seeing a ufo, piloted by a yettee, landing on top of the loch Ness monster.than much of this fitting.I must express any opinions on this kit are purely personal. Hope anyone taking it on goes better than mine.cheers and happy moddelling mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. I think you're doing a great job Mick despite the many fit issues that you've mentioned. You seem to be working around the problems very well and if what I see so far is anything to go by, the finished model will look fabulous?
Well done and keep plugging away at it mate - you'll get there.

Looking great Mick. I felt like you do with the photoetched Ho229 kit I built recently. It was such a bear to build. It became personal.I was determined to finish it.
It really is coming out great though.I have the London bus kit and I am nervous now building it.It has the same paper details for the advertising signs.I would love to see some pics of your technique to stick these onto the model.

Hi first of all must apologise if one post got reported as abusive or spam.the cat walked across the screen and was sent before could do anything about it.I just paste the border adhesive on back of photo gloss paper , stick them to model and wipe over with tissue to press it home easy really.only wipe once with first tissue as will have paste on it.then use fresh one to finish.cheers and happy moddelling mick. Hi one other thing I should mention.is the length of the base an benches, the instructions say 191mm for these, and this is what I made them to.but the sides are 189.5mm long.it is best to get these the same, ie 189.5 in my case.as I not realised the fit issues at this point.this dimension suits the roof.and will allow ends to sit square.was to late for me as would have meant ripping it apart to start again.so measure the base and sides.to see if you have any difference like mine.cheers and happy moddelling mick. I have found during the Jupiter build that the measruements they give in the instructions are not always right.

Hi first of all thanks for your kind comments much appreciated. The windows are now all in. 48 bits of window frame just for the 6 large windows alone.but time we'll spent me thinks, as no frames for these in kit.the inside now finished.the stairs I could not get there skins to fit, so made me own.they supply brass strip for treads.then paint them grey, I decided to leave them brass.the 2mm veneered ply round front took 5 hrs of soaking in water before it take that bend.clamped to model overnight to dry out.retained it's shape well for gluing.
