I have finally gotten to a point where it is acceptable. I used Tamiya weathering products and it is good for a beginner. Thanks to everyone for the ideas. I watched a lot of Tube on weathering. Stephan199 attached the following image(s):

I just received my 2nd month so I am ready to start assembly. Watching everyone else's builds has given me a ton of ideas.
I do have a question for the forum:
What has everyone been doing to get the magazine holders to stay in place with the binder?
Regards.

If you are reffering to the little white lengths of plastic that hold the magazines then once they are pushed all the way in they should stay in on their own.

That works. Just needed to push them all of the way down, which allows them to catch under the lip. I am way below newbie on that one.

Here is the start of my cargo hold. Looking at the picture, I now think it is a little too dirty, so may clean it up a bit. I did try to match the movie bench by not putting in the last backs and using putty to cover the slots. That is the first time I have ever used the Tamiya putty. It is remarkable stuff. Not sure how it looks to your eye, but I do notice on my photos that colors are much more vibrant to the camera than the eye. I see a lot more saturation. So trust your eye also. Don't just go by your picture.

Looking good, Stephan. I will probably do something similar with my bench. It looks like we are in about the same place on this build. Just got my second shipment last weekend. I haven't started my cargo hold just yet though. I'm still working on the tube and interior of the cockpit. Hi Stephan, I like the bench. I'm up to issue 20 and I've done everything but cargo hold. Been slowly trying to get it to look like the movie. The Tamiya pigments really make a difference in weathering. Tamiya 1/32 P-51D, Revell 1/32 Bf 109G-6 x2 1/32 P-51B, 1/32 Trumpeter Bf109K-4, 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109E, Testors 1/32 F-117, RMF 1/35 Tiger 1

Don't just go by your picture. Hi Colson, You make an excellent point. I compared the actual to the photo and the screen has greater saturation. I took some photos of a test card and noted that the saturation is greater with the camera. It is trying to lend 'vibrancy' to the photo for portrait. Thanks again for noting this. Regards, Stephan

No problem. I typically desaturate my model photos a tad in post.
