Thanks for looking and your kind comments guys. I managed to finish and install air intake valves, but damaged the finish on the ducts a bit - it was a very tight fit and the pressure was enough to disturb the wire I added and dull the paint for one of the intakes. I fixed the wire, but the paint will have to wait until tomorrow before I can respray. I'll post some pictures of finished assembly then. Top work here, mate. This looks so much better, it doesn't even look like the same kit anymore.

Just got the update that my missing right seat base will be dispatched tomorrow. Hell yeah, time to soak the carbon fiber decals ;-) Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

The build is great so far! Any recent updates? I built the orange coupe before the transkit was offered. Really looking forward to see what you do with this roadster and the super detailing!

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of updates and my general absence from the forums. I had the most intense 2 months at work I have ever experienced in my career... but it's over. The project is out, on time, the employer is happy and I'm starting to feel rested enough to go back to the hobby. Some updates soon :) Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Time for a small update... Last two months were probably the craziest months at work I have ever experienced. I didn't have much time for any of my builds - but that now changes and in the following weeks updates should be coming much more often.
In my Aventador build, I still concentrated mainly on the engine. I built up most of the engine block, gearbox and installed all the photo etch and custom rivets on the cam covers.

I also focused a bit on the air filter assembly. The intakes are now mounted to the filter block, passing through something that looks like air throttle / throttle controller unit? I wish Pocher put that little bit of extra information in their manual to give a bit more knowledge of what the individual parts are; this is a complicated engine. I have added photo-etched details to the throttle(?) control units and some extra hose clamps to bring it close to the original. You can also see how the ribbing on the air ducts came out in the relation to the rest of the assembly.

And finally received a replacement seat base from Pocher, below you can see the seats dry-fitted. That cream colour will have to go away, I'm aiming at a completely different interior colour scheme - some test painting will follow this weekend, as I have heard it's hard to find paint that will stick to the vinyl surface of the seats. We shall see...

Coming up next: redoing timing belts using actual belts (they are moulded as a single-piece plastic part together with all the pulleys), and starting adding all the extra bits and pieces of tubing, ducts and cables that Pocher neglected. Also some changes to the interior.
Thanks for looking in, all comments and critique are most welcome.Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Stunning work The air filter assembly almost looks like some sort of alien bug in some of the pictures

Wow you are hitting this out of the park!!!
I wish Pocher would release just the engine so you could see all of the fabulous work you have done without peeking inside the car

Hi guys, thank you for your kind comments. Spent an evening yesterday fabricating missing pulley mounts as Pocher took some shortcuts in this area - when I separate pulleys from the belt, some of the pulleys will have nothing to be attached to (i.e. they are originally hanging in thin air, held in place by rigid belt). Nothing new to show yet though. Still enjoying this build a lot. Seriously considering dropping my oob plan when I'm looking at what you're doing. Or I build it oob first, then take it apart again and redo. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

I see you're having the same problem not getting a 100% fit on the seats. I've seen a bit of improvement by not trying to press the vinyl all the way on the pegs. Also some of the guiding bits all around seem to interfere with proper installation. So I'm going to go hogwild on these with a file. The bit under the headrest however seems to only fit properly if we break out the glue. Anyone know if normal plastic/ABS glue is ok to be used with PVC?

Really great details so far. I am looking forward to what you do with all the plumbing on the engine! The base kit was lacking in that department but with your skills this should be something special.

Great work, what you've done so far looks 1/1 in fact I'm starting to wonder if you are actually building a full sized one and passing it off as a model . Ken's the name modeling's the game.
