Looks like you've got a good wok bench setup, ready for the remainder of the build. Nice to see it coming along. Mark Regards Markwarren (Mark) Admin

While waiting for my next shipment of R2 I decided to do a little weathering to some of the pieces. What do y'all think? I used screen shots to try to get it close to the movie, but I had one slip on the eye piece. I left it in though on the lower right of the eye cause I thought it still fit with a worn droid. And this is the right leg cover piece. Ive just used Reaper's Honed Steel paint (#09053) on these pieces so far. Still need to get a good rust look added to them. But the bare steel showing through the paint on him is starting to look pretty battle worn on its own. Kental attached the following image(s):

These look really good. Im really enjoying seeing what other people are doing with this and each is slightly different which I believe makes it more authentic so that piece under the eye will be part of a signature to you.
I had a play with an oil paint called MIG starship filth and its absolutely fantastic for dirt marks and really easy to use.

Has anyone noticed that the shoulder piece with the fist shipment is labeled right shoulder, but is actually the left shoulder. In the pic below you can clearly see the two caps are to the front of the leg while the cylinder in on the back side. Yet in this kit they are having it the other way around. I had to look it up cause something didnt feel right with the way it was looking for the leg, and now I see why. Kental attached the following image(s):

I have also noticed this on several pictures. However, most film screen shots, particularly the ones from ANH show them the same way as the build. Regards Markwarren (Mark) Admin

Since I have to wait a bit more for the next R2 shipment I got to work on some of my japan models. This is my 1/48 scale SnowSpeeder. I still have more painting and detailing to do on it. But so far so good. Hope y'all like it. Kental attached the following image(s):

Hi Kental. I asked this exact question about the shoulders on a Facebook page and somebody pointed out that as we are getting a lightsaber compartment and lightsaber it would seem this model is based on the Return of the Jedi R2D2 so I believe the shoulders are correct with the model.

I love those Bandai kits and have a few to build myself. Am also using those as fillers in between the R2 build

I just rewatched the movies and I noticed all three movies switch back and forth with the shoulder piece. What it looks like is when the two caps are up front it's a rc droid. And when the rod is up front it's Kenny baker in the droid. This is my guess based off the movements and actions of r2 are completely different with the two. But all three movies have the shoulder both ways.

Done a slight update to my work bench while waiting for my next shipment. I added a lower platform for my 3d printer which should be here in the next week or two. Hope y'all like the update. There are a few other things on my workbench now, one is the benchtop bandsaw with a light to improve the lighting at the bench. The other things are the R2-D2 poster from the first shipment framed above it and my snowspeeder model next to the bandsaw. Yes behind the laptop is a castle (wizards tower) I have also build while waiting for my second shipment. LOL I know I know I have lots of projects going on. Between working 55+ hours a week and building workbenches and models and castle minitures and half size and full size R2's. I just cant sit still even in my mid 40's. Guess I can blame myself for calling them and asking them to move up my shipping date.
