Thanks Tony.
The firewall is 80 sheet styrene covered with ally BMF. I used 80 sheet for the thickness which makes it really rigid and supports the body and front frame really well.
Roy.

Roy. Thanks for that Roy. The bare metal foil does give a really nice finish. Happy Modelling

Many thanks chaps. It's all good fun - even if a bit hair-tearing at times. Again, not much to see other than I've made a start on trimming up and fitting the bonnet section. Only very roughly trimmed at the moment and the arches are nowhere near sorted. Currently fixing a bracing strip inside the top edge of the panel to give it rigidity. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Very nice Roy. Is it vac formed body work? Happy Modelling

Yes, vac form.
The main shell is fibre glass but I don't use that stuff any more. Far too messy, smelly and nasty to work with. This body is one I've had for years gathering dust in the garage.

Sorry chaps but I just 'tried' to post a LONG message. The forum has been very dodgy today so when I hit 'post' it was all lost...
Thanks for the update Roy. Happy Modelling

More trimming, fiddling and fettling with the bonnet to get a decent fit before I start chopping it about for the louvres, lights and grille. One wheel nearly sorted and a tyre in primer. Just checking for position so it's only standing next to the car. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks Tony. I've been rattling on with it today as I'm 'hoping' to get it completed by end October/early November. I've made the rad shell, header tank and side frames for the rad. It's all made from sheet styrene. The weld lines were added using a stained glass window pen. Brilliant for stuff like this as well as rivets. The rad core will be next. The rad isn't fixed in yet as I need to add pipe fixings, relay connections and also build up the fan and shroud which goes on the front of the rad on this car. On we go... A bit more done on the front end. The rad is sorted, fan shroud and fan added. More bits still to fit as well as adding the wiring. Next up will be making and fitting the front wheels. Then it will be on to the back end and sorting the bonnet. It's still quite a bit to go but I'm really aiming at completing mid November. Looking forward to starting a new project... Thanks for peeping in chaps. Front wheels now made and fitted - centre spinners need sorting. Next will be the rear end gubbins and wheels... The ol' girl is getting quite heavy now. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Still plodding along with this one. The carb air box has been made and fitted but it still needs a few details. Some bracing to add to the rad header tank and then it will be the rear end... Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
