My next step is picking out the interim detail. I have used AK deck tan for the wood, I like the free wood feel of this colour. some metal parts are picked out in Tamiya dark grey.

Once dry I did a pin wash to add a 'used' look to the wood and to add shadow to the detail. for this I used AK dark wash for wood decks.

with this done the joining panel in the nose is added and a small piece in the foot well which is then glazed with acetate

many thanks all for the comments

The build continues with the gun, the kit calls for this to be black gut I used gun metal. there as a small modification needed and a tiny etch part to add.

The cockpit floor porgresses with what looks like the fuel tank, safely stowed away under the pilots seat LOL LOL Huh everything was given a brown/grey wash.

There are some smaller components needing to be painted before they go into the cockpit, I used a combination of AK oil and Tamiya paints.

The ammo assets have been painted semi gloss black, more needs to be done to them before the two haves of the fuselage come together.

Very nice work Jase, like the way you've weathered the cockpit and it's details in those last two photos, has a real vintage look to it.

Well done, progressing nicely and love the subject. Cool ThumpUp

Thanks all for looking in and dropping a commentCool

so my next task was the pilots chair. The kit effort is a little simple two part affair but this can be replaced with etch, which has a nice wicker look. I had the option to replace the letter seat with wicker etch too but the rear gunners seat is not replaced so I decided to keep the kit cushion and replace the seat back.

the cushion was painted humbrol leather then given a humbrol dark brown wash. I picked out the letter straps on the ammunition drums at the same time

Fortunately I had a down the correct size for forming the seat back. the etch is two parts that get formed separately then glued together so as to have pattern on both sides. I cut off the cushioned top edge from the kit part and stuck that on top, looks fine to me. the wicker was painted humbrol desert sand then given the same dark brown wash.

the gunners chair needed some support while the CA set, trusty old blutack again BigGrin while the pilot seat sat nicely on the fuel tank.

whiles that was all drying I fitted the dashboard into one of the halves. originally this was fitted to the other half, but on dry fitting the two fuselage halves it was fouling. so it was removed to be fixed forward of the part it was fouling on, this solved the problem.

an etch wiring loom was then fitted, as with most etch sets, there is no clue to what colour this should be, so I went with black, although I think I am going to change the box to grey and leave the wires black.

thats it for now

Nice work Jase, that wicker seat is nicely painted and looks very realistic - hard to tell that it is actually etched brass underneath!

Well done Jase, looking good. Cool ThumpUp

Thanks for looking in everybody,

Build continues with putting together the two halves, the fit is shocking Huh LOL LOL needed a lot of clam pressure to hold it together while the glue dried.
followed by quite a bit of squadron filler the full length of the join

I started putting the radiator together, the main grill is brass, other parts will be grey.

Now as I understand it these things were hand painted, so thought I would follow suit. I am using Humbrol Olive drab for the green. everything was then given a gloss coat to help with the decals. a matt cote will be applied to the green later and a semi-gloss for the grey metal parts.

Thats it for now
