Oh boy!, issue 51 discontinued? I hope the people who have just signed up as this is going live as a full kit realise this! I have been trying to get some back issues from my newsagent to replace ones where I painted the first leg. Now that the full kits are being reviewed on Youtube, the old issues I want are becoming easier to get hold of, because DeAgostini are having to make sure they have enough issues to cover the orders of full kits. If anything, Issue 1, and issue 51 will be getting less rare/hard to get rather than more so. Current Builds Eaglemoss: Ecto-1, BTTF Delorean [Installing Mods] Hachette: T800 Endoskeleton Agora Models Shelby Cobra 427 [Plate 031] BanDai 1:5000 Imperial Star Destroyer AMT 1991 U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge [Installing Mods & Lights]
Finished Builds Deagostini: R2-D2 [Never getting batteries]

The mention of 'discontinued" is totally false and is nothing more than a chancer that's hoping to make a fast buck by scare tactics, and should be reported to eBay for misrepresentation as its a totally false statement to make Issue 51 will be back in stock just as soon as the next batch arrives and for one reason alone, the subscription of R2 is still live and will continue for the forseeable.

Hence why I was rolling on the floor, laughing. The idea that any partwork would discontinue a single issue is ridiculous, so I ridiculed the person on Ebay who postulated the idea. By the way,if you are interested in this, you ought to know that it's not true. If you're not interested, why are you looking at an Ebay auction of [presumably] SOME of the parts? Sabreman, can you please PM me the link to that auction. I want to make sure he has been put straight. Maybe even report him - for all the good that'll do. All he has to say is "I only said that was what I believed." and they probably won't do anything about it, but if someone corrects him, and he continues to push this tripe, we all stand a better change of getting the auction cancelled - or at least making others aware that this is not the case and the parts are still relatively easy to get. And worse still, its guys like that who cause out of stock situations, who cherry-pick the issues that are deemed most sought after, which in turn means that bonafide backissue buyers are left wanting!

My big problem is that it wouldn't be very hard for DeAgostini to reserve stock for subscription buyers before sending issues out to retail: since I started my subscription, I've had nine issues delayed and of those, only two have actually come in since. One of which they refused to accept was in stock until I showed them the listing on their webstore :-(

Did you start your Subscription when the title was released months later?

I'm not sure when it was released first - I first heard about it, and subscribed, in April 2017. It can't be easy, tracking hundreds of subscribers who all want every issue of a magazine. But if we can put a man on the moon, surely it can't be beyond the wit of man to manage this? Even if DeAgostini noted that since April 2017, they needed to keep one copy of every issue back for me, it would make far more sense than whatever they're doing now. Worst of all is that Facebook and Twitter groups are constantly full of people bemoaning exactly the same problem with every DeAgostini partwork, it's like they're unable to learn any lessons or change in any way.

R2-D2 went on sale in Dec 2016, so in effect you are a late subscriber and in effect playing catch-up with stock available as you go along based on stock available. In a perfect world there should’nt be any fullfilment problems but the same applies to all Partwork companies because of the sheer volume of stock movement. As for social media, unfortunately you often find there are those that whip up a frenzy and join a bandwagon, which often transpires not to be as bad as it looks. If you are unhappy with any element of delivery, then c/s is the place to voice it as DeAgostini get daily report of ongoing situations.

Researcher wrote:Hello- My issue is a little different. I'm not missing issues, my shipments have stopped and when contacting C/S they tell me its on back-order. I have up to issue 32. I just received another response from customer service about the month 9 order. They say its in stock but due to a delay at the warehouse it may take 1-2 weeks to ship it. This was the exact same response I got when I emailed them 2 weeks ago. Today marks one month since I was charged for the order.

Sabreman64 wrote:OK, I'm feeling pretty angry at Deagostini right now. I received my latest delivery today, and as I guessed just over a week ago, issue 44 is out of stock, meaning I'm now waiting for issues 26, 27 and 44.
But what I'm angry about is that today's delivery included only issues 43, 45 and 46. Issue 47 is missing. The invoice says that I should find enclosed 43, 45, 46 and 47. A little circle has been drawn around issue 47 on the invoice. What is this little circle around 47 supposed to mean? Is 47 out of stock too, but they couldn't be bothered to mention this on the invoice, and yet they're charging me for 47 anyway? I'm pretty cross about this. You need to contact c/s regarding this as the forum does not have access to account information. While I accept your frustration, please refrain from using masked swearwords as it is in breach of our forum rules..

Reading all these replies since I posted myself about the bad customer service and my ongoing missing issues. I've complained and phoned just about every month now and I get the same replies and excuses the subscribers on here get. I've stopped building as I've not got issues from the "40's" numbers to go on. I've complained and threatened to take matters further or demand a full refund, nothing seems to matter. I've been billed for issues I've not received and stated QUITE CORRECTLY that 'how am I to tell when or IF I get those missing issues that the build is correct or working properly? What happens if I have to wait UNTIL THE END OF THE ISSUES to get my missing AND PAID FOR parts of it doesn't work??? This is disgusting. The amount we're spending on this and we can even get what we've paid for months ago. Feel very used and sad about this.

Hi, I registered on the forum in the hope of getting my own dilemma resolved, but looking at others posts, I am starting to get worried. I have been a subscriber from the beginning, but about 6 months ago, issue 58 and 60 were missing from my usual delivery, I contacted customer services continuously and got the usual "This is out of stock" reply for months, I then noticed that these issues were for sale on the deagostini website, so I immediately ordered both, after a three week wait, only issue 60 showed up (this was 6 weeks ago), now I am getting the "This is out of stock" reply from customer services for both the subscription order AND the website order. As we are on issue 90, I fear that the series will end and I will never receive the missing parts for a model that I was building with my children. Like others, I have stopped the build as I need the parts to complete the dome and leg, I won't go into how I feel about this, as others have expressed that frustration quite clearly on earlier posts.

Niall, I too subscribed a bit late, and I've had several missing issues along the way.
Only twice out of 9 separate missing issues did I get charged for the issue and then not receive it in the bundle; both times it lasted for about five or six months until I complained heavily enough to CS about it, and pointed out in each case that the issue was marked as In Stock in their shop, and then they got them out to me.
The other issues are now all caught up to #72 after last month's delivery included #49 and #61, and the next delivery has been marked as containing the next four in order (taking me up to #76), so I'm fairly confident that in time, you will get the issues, but you do need to keep an eye on the shop and complain every now and then if they've charged you.
Incidentally, under UK law, it is actually illegal to get charged for something that isn't ready to send out, but few people are aware of that and fewer have ever used it in a legal case. Credit/Debit card companies can get very sniffy about people doing that.

Thanks Ian, interestingly the issues that I ordered were marked as "in stock" when I ordered them, but my missing issue has now worryingly disappeared from the shop, I have kept up my complaints with C/S via email, an am still waiting for a reply to my last correspondence. I am now looking out for an alternative source for this issue via old stock in Newsagents, eBay etc and will seek a refund if this is successful.

I've got issue 47 on back order, me own fault I accumulated about 8 months of issues before carrying on with the build. It would appear that during this time the wife, in one of her tidying up routines, 'disposed' of the issues pack 45 - 48, I had to re-order the issues. Had all copies replaced except 47, still on back order. Now being a bit impatient to get on with the build now have brought a replacement 47 off ebay but for 19.99, ouch, but that was my choice. If anyone else is wanting my back order when it arrives you can have it for the cover price plus postage.
Ohh, BTW, have you seen the add on ebay for the complete'ish R2D2 for a mere £1800, what a bargain !!!!!!

Hi I've had a problem with part 58 not arriving I am now up to issue 84 and still no sign of it arriving or been in stock. I'm worried it won't arrive as it's been out of stock for months now
