Hi sean. Looking good so far mate. ref the planking side of the model, my first go at planking a model was the hatchette bismarck also done radio controlled. i did not have to many problems with this, following mag instructions. Plus the bismarck was double planked. once it was sanded and a bit of wood filler here and there gave it a very good finish. Hope this helps, Ian Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood. Finished Builds Corel HMS Victory cross section.

willie wrote:super glue gives you one chance the glue i am useing is NO MORE NAILS EXPRESS pva is weather proof gives a strong bond in 5 to ten minutes full cure in 24 houres and its cheaper than super glue I too have bought this in readiness for when I start my build which wont be for a while yet. It states on the label that it is 'weatherproof', which is different from being 'waterproof'. Will have a look at their website just to see. TIS

TIS 'Weatherproof' is fine, because it is on the basis that joints with it are not immersed in water, but in fact are overpainted or sealed which creates the seal; you must use an appropriate water sealer as previously mentioned, end ensure that the hull planks are glued along their full lengths to each other as well as to the framework.
