Next up was more on the engine and various parts attached to it.
I also made up the pedal connections that come out of the foot well and into the engine bay, the oil pump and parts of the steering rack and uprights.

Then the engine was added and a start made on the multitude of pipes, cables and wires.

I was fortunate to have been able to take so many photo's as reference from the real car as they helped me enormously in working out where various wires and pipes went...

Thanks Andy.

A bit more here - engine detailing, front chassis/suspension etc added.
Fluid bottles all made just using scrap stuff, also in place. Carbs cast, painted and fitted - trumpets still to add.
Manifold made from old guitar lead with a stiff copper core inserted.
All the reference photo's I took at the factory REALLY were useful.

The next part tackled on this one was the seats.

The real car has very basic padded seating but is actually surprisingly comfortable.
The fluted effect was made by creating a former using foam board and covering it with very thin black leather. These parts were then fixed into the interior.

The next bit along for those following...
The wheels and tyres were cast and painted, then after a good deal of 'tweaking' were fitted to the car.

The front body section was then trimmed and adjusted so that it would fit and stay in place - a task all on its own.

By now, it was beginning to look like a car.
Still a MONUMENTAL amount of work to go...

Many thanks chaps. Your kind words are very much appreciated.

More detailing to the engine area. It's amazing how much you realise you HAVEN'T added when you have incredible reference pictures.

For fun, I've added some real car pics and my model...
