Catching up a bit with this one... The body was cleaned up, primed and then given several coats of gloss white. Then it was all masked up and the red layer added. There's a bit of cleaning up to do and some little touch-ups but it's turned out quite well. On we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

OK. This one needs completing now. I've added the gold body line, BMF'd the window frames and started putting some decals on. I had to print these myself and actually add a double layer with the side and bonnet numbers as the red showed through the decal too much. Anyway - on we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Nice work Roy, those 'Gold Leaf' decals look great! Looking forward to seeing this in the Finished Build gallery.

2 layers of clear over everything so now just need to leave it to fully harden before resuming the build. Another project on the way in the meantime... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Excellent job on the clear coat Roy, was that a two pack diamond coat or normal modelling varnish? Looks like a very good finish to it and I always think that red is one of those colours that really 'pops' when it has a polished look.
Well done.

Hello Kev. The clear is Halfords clear acrylic. It's touch dry in about 10 minutes so 2-3 coats is quite quick. It's great stuff.

Colours look lovely on this one Roy. Do you still use the halfords primers? I know they were very good and you got a nice big tin for your money. I know civil aircraft modellers used to be keen on using the halfords “appliance white”. Tony Happy Modelling

Hello Tony. Yes, all my paints are Halfords rattle-cans - even on small parts.
The primer is Halfords grey or white primer for plastic. All the colours are Halfords car paints. As it happens, it's appliance white on the lower parts of this one...

Nice!!

This one is nearing the end now. Just a few small parts to fit, paint some matt black around the inside of the rear and get the body on the chassis. The doors are now fitted - the tape is just to keep them shut while I'm working on it. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
