Hi, Thanks for the nice comments guys - the pounce wheel was on ebay, about £7 i think. I dont have any more pics during tiling but i did nothing special, pretty standard brick pattern layout, dont follow the planks let the copper run in straight lines. Use lengths of about 6 inches for the straights and single "tiles" for the tricky bits  Theres a couple more pics on my recently started build log (link in my sig) I have mags 57-60 now so will make a move on that soon. Hi Steve, I think you have done a fabulous job of weathering the tiles and it it is the way to go, the only thing that spoils it for me is the rivets at this scale would not show up the tiles would appear flat. I had seen your earlier post on this one and (although years away from ever doing my Victory) wondered why I purchased the individual tiles which to be fair are excellant but I guess will be time consuming and fiddly to apply. I got my wheels as a set of 3 some time ago (not related to the victory project) from Micromark in the USA but as you say there seems to be plenty of options on ebay at the moment. Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the nice comments, and Mike - no offence taken on the rivets - in fact I have a confession to make...... Last night i pulled all the copper off and started again, as you can read from the beginning of this thread I was never really happy with it. I had so many nice comments though that I thought it was something I should get used to but I could never look at it and feel really happy so it had to go. The reason was as Mike said, the rivet size is overscale, a finer pounce wheel may be a lot better but I have now started again with no rivets. As you can see it goes on fast as I did all this last night. I will be weathering it again when all complete but will be making up some test cards of copper to see different effects etc and will post these here for anyone thinking of doing this.  BTW, the new wood cutter thingy seen in the pic cuts the copper but not the backing paper if you dont press too hard, I have now mastered it and it makes peeling the tiles off so simple

Well done Stevie-O It certainly looks the part and I'll definately be getting that Patina-it for my own copper tape before long. I must admit though, I do prefer the effect with the rivets instead of the plain tiles but well done indeed! Thanks Paul / Tom - and yes, will be using the Patina solution on the Trinny hull - I have just been testing different mixes to get the right effect so will post the results in my next update Steve
