I think you can see progress so quickly it spurs you on to the nex Task It sure does jase,so the planking has started, the first plank laid if for spacing only, the gunwales are fitted last to this gap after removing first plank.at this stage it's worth looking at the overall shape of the hull, the bow and stern sections have a smaller area then the centre of the hull so reducing the next lot of planks is nessessary.I have tapered the next plank 3 formers in at the bow,and 3 formers in at the stern.the amount of tapering is governed by the shipyards rules of 1/2 width tapering to nothing,so you don't get pointed bit of planking,so far no stealers have been used, but will say if I need to use them. as you can see,I used the crimper type plank bender, and soaked each plank for 30 seconds, because this is a small boat,I have use medium superglue for the fixing agent.had it been a larger vessel,I would have use aliphatic glue.I also bevel each plank to get a nice tight fit,and having soaked the planks I can twist them to stop the clinkering effect.total build time to date 13 hours. Karl Been keeping up with your builds and as ever just do not know how you do it. I bet you never sleep I take my hat off (if I had one) to your planking. I think that cotton trick you use for your plank caulking is brilliant. But how you do it is beyond me - tried it and decided you need at least 4 hands. Many thanks again for sharing all your builds which I really appreciate. Don't always have the time to comment but always impressed with what you do. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling
