This photo shows all of the ribs fixed in place and the ends cut flush to the leading edge of the inner pressure hull.

To match the style of the cut-out ribs on the part-works supplied plastic hull pieces I filed a bevelled edge.

To continue that 'cut-away' effect I measured and glued ribs that would be seen on the near edge as shown in this photo. I left them longer than needed so that I could hold and position them correctly.

The complete process took two weeks and I think it turned out very well.

In the next post I will be looking at making the profiled 'scalloped' saddle tank ends on this compartment.

Good Evening from 'The Dockyard'.

On this part of my U230 U-Boat build I will be fitting profiled and scalloped ends to the saddle tank that span the Junior Rates Mess & Galley as mentioned in my previous thread last week.

The attached image shows the area I will be working on. As before the U-boat is inverted to aid easier working.
