UPDATE: SPITFIRE. 190715. NAVIGATION LIGHTS. WING PLATE ENDS. First job was to test both lights before fitting, the lights are powered by 4 AA batteries which must be the main power for the aircraft. Next I feed the lighting wire through the tube as shown in the instructions, test again when in place, you may need tweezers to help you insert the bulb.(I found I had to file out the hole it seemed to small). Same again for the left wing. WING PLATE ENDS. After fitting the Navigation lights, I now can fit the wing end plates to both wings, I found in my build I had to adjust the fit and remove excess material that overlaps the wing tip,I adjusted mine on the curve as I need to keep that straight edge for the next plate along. The main point is to be sure that it fits in the grove on the metal rim, in my case I had to dig it out for the plate to fit in correctly mainly because it seemed to shallow. A few pictures to show. Some times it is a good idea to make your own template to see were you are. Top side wing plate fitted with Navigation lights. WING PLATES UNDER SIDE. I found fitting the end wing plate much the same as the top plate again I had to remove some metal from the grove to get a good fit. This shows lower wing plate this fits next to the wing end plate, it has to be a good fit that is the reason that I removed the excess material from the curve on the wing tip. Also you will have to mark the rivets on this plate, but before I marked them I found it best to fit or make all the adjustments first i.e. make sure it fits flush and is aligned with all edges first then mark it. That's about all so far. Thanks for looking Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Fabulous work Trev, love your attention to detail and the effort you are making to get the fit of parts perfect - that'll pay dividends later and make all the difference to the look of the finished model. Also love the look of the wing tip navigation light as well, super job my friend.
Well done on a top build Trev and looking forward to your next update with anticipation.

Hi Davetwin, Good to here from you and thank you for your thoughts, found the nav lights a bit tricky regarding the holes for fitting the lights on both sides, had to take a small file and remove a small amount of material to fit snug and a spot of glue to hold the bulb.
